Chances for BLT 7 months out?

We have a reservation for AKV in the middle of August. We are toying with the idea of trying to get BLT during the same time period. Do we have any shot at all?

As long as you are seeking lake view, your chances should be very high. It is MK or standard view that will be iffy.

As an fyi, I tried to book the week of July 4th @ 7 month in a BLT standard. MS said July 3rd and 4th were booked (but not the rest of the week) but LV was available. I would not think Aug would be more popular (so your chances may be better), but you never know...

We called back in November on the 1st day of our 7 month booking window to convert our early June SSR stay to BLT. I called on the day of but a few hours after MS had opened for the day. Both lake view and MK view were available and I was able to change our reservation. So I'd say that the chances are good that you'll be able to get in somewhere at BLT as long as you call sometime close to your 7 month window.

We called at the 6 month mark for BLT the first week of May for a 2 bedroom. All but one night was available (lake view), so we ended up booking Wilderness Lodge and waitlisting for BLT for either a dedicated or lock off 2 bedroom.

Just got an email this week confirming the wait list had come through for the lock off, lake view. We're taking our grandchildren (4 and 2) for their first trip and are thrilled to be so close to MK.

I'd say go for the waitlist and see what happens -- you never know, there may be some pixie dust out there.

We're staying for 10-nights starting in late July and we were able to get a 1BR Theme Park view at BLT by calling right at the 7-month window. Good luck and I'm sending some magic Pixie dust your way.

Good luck. We got in a 2br lockoff LV in October right at the 7 month mark. I wanted a dedicated and waitlisted for LV and the waitlist never came through. But we did get a room at 7 months.

I think it is all timing and your willingness to be flexible.

Got a 7-month 1BR LV for a week in April 2012 and was very excited. When I called they had no standard view (I've heard of standard views getting booked up the first day of the 11 month window), "limited" MK view rooms, and "a lot" of Lake Views. She said the system doesn't tell them exactly how many rooms are available, but will show if something is close to selling out, like the MK was, but the LV wasn't. Good luck!

Since you've already got AKV reservations for your stay, why not wait-list BLT? You've got nothing to lose and might be surprised at some point.

We own at BLT, but I was wanting to switch to VB at my 7 month mark so I could get a beach cottage. The beach cottage wasn't available for our entire stay nor were the rooms we'd need (there are 18 of us in all). I called on Monday (our 7 month mark) to switch, and when VB wasn't available, I was able to switch our dedicated LV to a MK view. We also already had a 2 bedroom lockoff SV, but I didn't change that one.

Anyhow, after thinking about it for a couple of days, I stressed myself out about the number of points the MK view was taking, so I called back this morning, and I was able to switch back to a LV with no problem. However, I didn't realize how all of the points were being allocated when I switched (we had banked points as well as VB points in our account), and the lady that made the change said I would get back some banked points and 52 VB points. I told her I didn't want my VB points back because they have to be used first. Apparently, since I had two reservations, they used current points for my 2 bedroom lockoff and used banked and VB to book my LV/MK view room and couldn't change that. ?? To make a long story short, we switched my reservation back to MK view before the call was over with no problem because I knew we wouldn't use the VB points before they'd expire anyhow.

My point in all of this? I would think you should have pretty good luck for mid-August at the 7 month mark depending on what type of room you're looking for. I've done a whole lot of switching views in the last few days at BLT with no problem. Hope this helps.

If it's not a busy time of year and you are OK with lake view (I think the vast majority of the rooms are lake view), probably pretty good. I may try for a couple of nights in September.

We booked a BLT 1BR for a late July trip at 7 months out in 2010.

We had no problem getting a lake view. And btw, our "lake view" was actually a "theme-park view" more than it was a "lake view". We felt quite lucky with the room we had!

Hi-we booked a 6 night for August 2011 Lake view at BLT at our 7 month window and yesterday booked July 2012 Lake view at BLT. We loved our lake view-watching the boats and the lake from our balcony was very relaxing. Given our special needs-a member of our party needs a handicap accessible unit, we were surprised at how easy it is to book. And it is an awesome place to stay!!

You have a good chance althought right after the required points drop (the 16th) if is somewhat more difficult.

If you are down for more than 7 days and can not get you whole vacaion at BLT, iT and AKV make a great split stay.

We own at BLT and we tried today at our 11 month window for Dec 1-9 and couldn't get the week in a st view. We had to book a lake view, which I hate spending points on bc we wake up and leave the room and come back in long enough to bathe and hit the bed.

May i ask what size villa? Im an owner hoping to book dec 7 2012 in a standard view studio before our cruise in a few days and never imagined it wouldnt be available. If its not, we may use dhs points and stay at WL or somewhere else at 7 months, i dont really want to spend extra for a lake view.

I'm right there with you waiting. I'd like to book BLT in about a week and a half which will be our 7 month window. Not too nervous. We've gotten it at spring break time at 7 months a couple of years ago so hopefully with it being a less busy time we'll be fine!!

I am also waiting to book at BLT. My 7 month window is on the 25th & I need to book a studio lake view. I'm hopeful we will get it, but will waitlist and cross our fingers if I can't get it on the day I can book.
