Chances at 7 Months for Marathon Weekend

Hi. My wife and I have stayed at Saratoga Springs, Jambo House Villas, Beach Club Villas and Kidani Village Villas with our membership. We'll be going to WDW in January 2012 to run the Disney half marathon and would like to stay somewhere new that we haven't stayed at before. Our home resort is Animal Kingdom. So, I was wondering what people think our chances will be at 7 months for Bay Lake Tower, Villas at Wilderness Lodge, Boardwalk and Old Key West. Likely traveling Thursday to Monday over Marathon Weekend. Thanks.

Old Kwy West is likely your best bet for 7 months- I would reserve something at your home resort now so you have something in case nothing else is avavilable.

I would start by booking your home resort, also. And then try to switch at 7 months.

This past January we stayed at BWV for 5 nights, starting on Saturday of Marathon Weekend. I had booked a 1 BR Standard View at exactly 7 months out. So it's entirely possible!

I considered myself VERY LUCKY to get a 1 BR Standard View at 7 months out, let alone for Marathon weekend!

I'd call right at 7 months if you're going for BLT. The location on the monorail is a huge advantage for the racers. It lets you avoid the 3:30 am buses and potentially gives you the extra hour of sleep because you can take the monorail later.

It was for the '10 Marathon, and I called right at 7 months, and I had to wait, but we did get at dedicated 2 bedroom, lake view for that weekend.
