I have a chance to visit the park on 1/25, but I won't get into LAX until 11:00 AM. Is it worth making the trip over and spending the rest of the day there? I'll be solo, and I've probably been to WDW 25 times, so I can move pretty quick through the park.

But given it's a Sunday and I'm guessing it'll be at least 12:30 before I get there, what do the vets think?

Also, does anyone knows if the Fastpasses that DVC gives out will work at Disneyland, please pass along. Thanks!

Well, I think the first question would be, "How late can you stay?" Also, is money a major concern to you?

The park closes that night at 10pm. So, if you can stay until closing, you can get about 9 hours (10 if you wander through the shops on Main Street until 11pm). That could be a nice visit.

DL is different from the MK and has a charm to it that many say is due to the fact that it is the only park that Walt saw through to Opening Day.

There are similar attractions, but it is generally agreed upon by those who have been to both parks that some of without a doubt better than WDW. There are additional rides at Fantasyland that do not exist at WDW. Also, the entire Fantasyland is different at DL. They are actual buildings, not just facades. The Castles are very different. There is similar entertainment and different, as well.

I would not go in with the plan of just zooming through since you are familiar with MK, instead I would suggest actually taking the time to just enjoy and note the differences and similarities.

If you think the money is worth the part day, I would say, "Go for it!"

P.S. Welcome to DIS!

Well, I would do it. But then let's be honest, I'd start trying to move that flight earlier...then I would move it so I flew in the night before. :rolleyes1

For a solo DAY you want to find out what's available, figure out what you want to do in your deepest heart of hearts, travel light, and do it!

I would do it, but then again I am doing it. Our flight gets in at around 10:30 am so I figure we won't get to DL until around 12:30 (like yourself) and we are staying until close, however this is our first of 5 days at DL but even if it was our only chance to have one day I would do it.

If you don't mind spending the money I say go for it!!!!

Is that your only chance to visit, or will you be able to do it on another day? I think because you are traveling solo, you would do just fine, especially if you can stay until closing. But perhaps you feel like you should go on a day that you are there at rope drop?

Go for it!

What fastpasses does DVC give out? Do tell! We're members & will be at DL, too. Our guide (who is in CA) knows we'll be there & didn't mention DVC
fastpasses.

When we added on points, we got "comped" a few cards with 3 "Instant Fastpasses" each on them. Meaning, if I put it in the Fastpass machine, it would spit out a fastpass that was good immediately, regardless of the time for which the standard fastpasses were being distributed. They didn't give me very many, and I had bought a fair number of points. I still have a few left over and if the work in DL like they do in WDW (as of 12/08) then it will greatly accelerate my pace through the park.

I don't mind the cost of park admission, it's more about the crowd level for that day and the wait for given attractions that concerns me than anything else. I can stay until closing, although my hotel is waaaay over in Universal City (work-related travel). This is the only day I'll have to get there so I suspect I'll go regardless.

Real good responses from everyone thus far - thank you!
