Chance for an Upgrade?

Iam leaving in two days for a week at WLV. This will be my first stay at my home resort, I stayed at Boardwalk last month and loved it.
Iwas planning on a nice relaxing, maybe romantic week with my fiance. We just found out that because his ex-wife is very ill we will be bringing alone his 9 year old.
What do you think the chances are if I ask for an upgrade that they will put me into a 1 bedroom? have resservations or a studio, and that will be ok for the 3 of us but a 1 bedroom would be even better.
I don't have any points left this year, and have big plans for next years points so I dont want to dip into them. Peggie

The only "upgrade" I have ever heard of was BWV's from a standard view to preferred view. I doubt very much that you will be upgraded from studio to one bdrm. We were at the WL in May, 3 of us incl dd who is 3. We were having a hard time getting her to sleep in the same room w/ us, so I requested upgrade to one bdrm. It took ALL my pts and then some, but we didn't get any kind of break

It is my understanding, DVC resorts do not do complimentary upgrades for members staying on points.

Your chances are slim to none. If they for some reason ran out of studios for some unforeseen reason, maybe they would then, but they generally will not do that just because you asked. You can still ask though, you never know.
