Champions Gate / Windsor Hills / Emerald Island

Hi - anybody stayed at Champions Gate? How does it compare with Windsor Hills and Emerald Island. I hear its a newer resort (or has newer areas) but does it have a similar standard clubhouse, resort pool area etc?

They are building brand new rental homes at champions gate they are very nice and have their own pools. We actually drove thru there today. A lot of people were staying in the homes. It is a lennar community. They just broke ground on the water park area it will have a clubhouse and restaraunt, but is not built yet. The Omni resort is also there, but only resort guests can use the pools there. Great location, it is going to be very nice when it's all done.

It is a very nice community, but it is much farther from the Disney parks. Windsor Hills is much more convenient for Disney. It is only 2 miles to the entrance of WDW.

This is one of the communities supposedly offering purchasing realtor a massive commission. Expect to hear phrases like "its just a few minutes further from Disney" and that sort of thing, and it is being heavily pushed. As far as amenities, I rarely see guests use anything aside from the pools/water parks. Those cinemas so many resorts have never get used, and nobody goes to Disney to sit in a sauna or work out in a big workout room.

We stayed in Reunion, which is near Champion's Gate, 2 years ago. It was nice, and the location itself wasn't that far from Disney, but there are only a couple of restaurants in the area. The area is really just developing, so if you think you'd like to be closer to shopping and restaurants, I would go with Windsor Hills or Emerald Island. We are staying in a home in WH this summer.
