Challenge: Sept on a single tank of gas?

i guess the real question here is 'wanna see how little gas we can use this month?' for us, DH has to fill up at least twice a week (he drives to four different jobs sites weekly...some times more than one a day...plus the drive from home)...I was home all summer but that ends Wednesday.

So...I guess...for the this month I will try not to make individual trips (after today ) and consolidate errands with work driving to go as few miles as possible.

I just filled my car with minus $1.10 a gallon from Stop & Shop rewards. No, I don't buy that many groceries, my mother and I use the same card and she gives me her points. Last week had some really good gas points deal. Brought my gas down to $2.85 a gallon.

I have to buy probably around $1400 worth of Southwest airfare October 3 so any budgeting this month would be great!

I live 7 miles from work but we have a wonderful bike trail close to my home.

I have to take it easy though 'cause I'm recovering from a heart attack at age 46. However, the doctor wants me to exercise and lose weight.

Want to join me to see if we can make it through September on a single tank of gas?

Don't really know if that is at all realistic since I've got two round trips to the airport and one into the city already on the calendar. But, I'd like to see how far into the month I can get.

Filled today and want to motivate myself to be careful about limiting "miscellaneous" trips.

No way I could do it. Even just running DD to school and back and then running her to her afterschool activities and my normal errands (grouped to save miles), I put way too many miles on the car for one tank to last more than about 1 1/2 weeks.
