So, say you had to do lunch with a snack credit.. what would you do? For child and adult...

If we do a counter services breakfast, I'm trying to figure out if lunch can be done on a snack credit. I've looked through the snack stuff a bit, but most of what I see is sweet stuff.

So here is today's challenge! :)

You can get a baked potato with cheese at the Magic Kingdom. Sometimes that is a nice snack type lunch. You'd be out of luck with a drink though. I guess water from the fountain?

My answer would depend on what your plan for the day is and more about who you are traveling with.

In some cases I would suggest maybe paying for the breakfast CS meal OOP since breakfast tends to be the least expensive meal of the day.

Another option would be to use snack credits on breakfast and CS credits on lunch. A breakfast pastry (coissant, danish) and juice or choc milk can sometimes be more than enough to hold you over.

Also, it depends on where you plan on being that day. Places like MK and EPCOT might have more snack for lunch options than AK or DHS.

If you are bigger breakfast eaters than lunch eaters or have an earlier dinner that night, check out the confirmed snack list and where you would plan on being for lunch on that day.

Ham and cheese sandwich! That's a good one!
And I'm certainly going to have to try the leek soup...

Yeah, I suspect some days we would rather have a big breakfast, with just a light lunch. I find that with the heat, I'm just not always that hungry in the middle of the day. With a young child, we have mostly early dinner ADRs, so I thought a "snack" lunch might be best for a few of our days. Looks like our Epcot days might be the best ones for this. That, and I'm just not a big sweet tooth person... most of my snacks I'd rather have "salty", and while pretzels are good, I doubt I'll want more than 1 of those (and I'm not a huge popcorn fan).

Thanks for the ideas! I was hoping that corn dogs would be a "snack" somewhere, but I didn't see any in the list.

It's on my list for sure!

I also notice Rosie's had "soup of the day" on the list.

Not for nothing, but some of the breakfast platters are BIG...eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuit, potatoes and Mickey Waffle. We share that platter using 1 CS credit. I eat some of the egg, DH eats the buscuit, rest of the egg, potatoes, half the bacon, and half the sausage, DD eats the waffle and the other half of the bacon and sausage. I usually use a snack credit for a fruit bowl and we share that as well. With a chocolate milk for DD and a bottle of apple juice we are all set. DH and I use the refillable mugs for coffee.
That leaves us with QS credits we can split as well for lunch.

A great light lunch is the bakery in France, a warm ham and cheese croissant with a nice pastry to share can be just the right amount without feeling overfull.

share CS meals!!! If, as it appears in your first post, it is you and a child, split an adult CS breakfast if you're hungry in the morning. Then use the child's CS for lunch and you can supplement with a snack credit if necessary. If you're not very hungry in the AM, nibble the child's CS breakfast (again supplementing w/SC if nec) and split the adult CS for lunch.

Ham and cheese sandwich! That's a good one!
And I'm certainly going to have to try the leek soup...

The French bakery ham & cheese croissant for the snack credit is about 3 or 4 bites, so lunch only if you want something small! The full ham & cheese sandwich on a baguette is a normal size sandwich but is a quick service credit.

I recommend using the snack credit for breakfast and the CS for lunch and dinner. The reason being is that for breakfast with a snack credit you could get a muffin, a cinnamon roll, a croissant, sweet stuff like brownies, cake, cupcakes, or apple tarts, etc. It doesn't have to be a dessert like breakfast but muffins, cinnamon rolls and croissants are good breakfasts to get with the snack credit. You'll find much more use for the snack credit during breakfast than during lunch.

At the Pop food court, a snack credit can get you fries (with or without chili and cheese), a bowl of chili, or fresh baked breadsticks with tomato sauce.

Fyi, the chicken/rib combo meal at Cosmic Ray's in the MK is huge! An adult and child can easily share one. :)

2nd the choice of using the counter service credit for lunch instead of breakfast...we find it no fun at all to start riding wild rides on an over-full tummy first thing in the morning.

If you're pretty sure you have to start with a full breakfast -- how about using 1 CS credit to get a breakfast platter to split (and using one snack credit to add an item like an over-sized pastry) Then you can do the same thing at lunch--split a large counter-service lunch & use one snack credit to supplement. That way you're getting "real" food for both meals.

I would get the chicken fried rice from the Yak and Yeti counter service. :thumbsup2

I second this!

I totally get not being hungry at lunchtime with the heat, but it's much easier to pull off breakfast with a snack credit than lunch. My favorite is the cinnamon rolls from Main Street Bakery. Also can do muffins, yogurt, cereal.

The soft pretzels at the cart are monsters. They more than make a meal...we share them.
Also i see the WPE has soup as a snack now. Probably pretty good and filling.

i'm going to echo some of the other posters... i recommend splitting a qs b'fast (you get two drinks!) and then split a qs lunch using the snack credit for the 2nd drink...
