We get into Disneyland at 12 on sunday and I just noticed there is something called a chalk walk going on so the park opens an hour later which is fine since we wont be getting to the park till 2ish anyways, but will this be a busier day because of the walk participants sticking around or returning?

I suspect that you mean CHOC walk. ??? (children's hospital orange county)

Having suggested that, I admit, I have no idea about crowds caused by the event. But maybe this clarification will prompt someone who has an idea.

OOOps yes I couldn't find anything about it on the internet my mom just told me about it over the phone so yes CHOC walk...

In 2009, our first day coincided with the CHOC walk and we had similar concerns, but the parks definitely were not busy by any stretch. Not only that, but we showed up just a bit early (maybe 9:30 for a 10am late opening), picked up buttons at City Hall then wandered down Main Street expecting to encounter a rope, but everything was already open and the rides were running. Can't guarantee that is always the case, but we were pleasantly surprised.

Going on the day of CHOC Walk doesn't have any effect, other than a delay in the start of the day and some traffic in the morning. Particpants get entry to the park but can use it at a later time.
