Cha cha - new search engine

I had trouble earlier and logged out but now Im back on and all is well


Does it look different to anyone now? There's not choice for "capture" or whatever it's called. Only for add result. And now the trainers dont' rate you with stars but with little smileys that say "great".

I've been very lucky. I only had one trainer that gave me a problem. What I hate are the searches that sound normal and then turn out to be pranks. I had one where the guy asked me to find a pretty easy fact. I found it quickly and gave him several sites. He comes back listing a couple of different sites with the same information and says "nice try, but this is what I was looking for". Of course he gave me a 0. I know one zero isn't a big deal but it's frustrating. At least I got paid for it.

Ya know what I wonder, I wonder why if I find what they're looking for and I ask if I can find anything else and they say no. Then why do I get an "OK" rating?

I've had a couple of rude ones too. Oh well, take the good with the bad I guess.

My biggest peeve is the constant application lock up tonight. GRRRR.

I'm also wondering why I'm getting paid for training. Anyone?

Anyone else having trouble adding keywords? Mine just locks up.

OK, exactly how fast do you have to be on the doorbell? I'm hitting it as soon as it rings and nothing happens. I assume somebody else is getting it quicker. Yesterday it would flash at the top and tell you that another guide got it. Today it just does nothing. I click accept. Nothing happens.

Anybody else?

Now I need to vent............
Last nite while I was working I kept getting these "training" sessions
on my new key words. I got the search ,, was fast ,, courtious ,, and thought it ended on a wonderful note. I was led to believe by the "trainer" that
I had given the right results , told I did an excellant job ,, and that
I would be given five stars (now they give bad or happy faces).
I asked if the trainer had any tips for me ,,, they said no that I had
done a perfect search that time. Thumbs up they said.
I too thought I had done a good job with it.
Well,,,,,,,,, Boom , they go and give me "one star" or a bad
face. I couldn't believe it ,, but oh well ,,, I moved on

This exact scenario happened to me last night! I was doing a search and did it quickly efficiently, etc...The trainer even said.."good job, 5 stars for you!" and then gave me the Bad Face. I can't understand why they would do that. I didn't ask how I did or anything, the trainer came right out and said they were giving me 5 stars and then proceeded to do the opposite. I was very irritated!

I'm not glad it happened to you but I am glad to hear that it happened to somebody else so I know it's not me at least. I hope they find that person and see if they were just being malicious and reprimand them.

Could be that all these unwarranted bad faces also have to do with the system issues they've been having. This weekend it was pretty bad. I think I had more searches frozen up than those that didn't freeze up.

I went to the ChaCha page..and gave them basic information ..my name, email, ect. But I haven't heard anything from them.

What kind of timeframe are we talking about? Is everyboy accepted, or only a few?

Does anybody have any tips on getting selected?

I tried doing it through the website too and it never worked out. I kept getting a returned mail thing in my email a few days later. Teh way I finally got on was through an invitation from an existing guide. Once I had that, it was immediate. No waiting, and as far as I know, everybody gets approved that gets invited.

It could but the time it happened to me went through without any glitches so I don't know.

I've gotten a few bad ratings too. There were a few times though that I was training someone and it froze on my end and I couldn't rate them. I felt bad because when you don't rate someone it defaults to the bad face. What I hate is when you do a search for someone and they're all happy but then they don't rate you. That drives me crazy. I'm slowly watching my fifth star disappear because of people that don't rate when they're done.

Has anyone had any training lately? I'm up to 9 key words but I haven't gotten any training on a few of them. One I changed last night. Teaching was one of my key words but I kept getting trained on ESL help. At first I thought they might count towards my teaching key word but after almost 10 searches all rated great I stilll hadn't moved up on that key word. I changed it to ESL help and of course I haven't gotten another training session on it.
I trained a girl earlier whose keyword was "ghost mice". I couldn't stop giggling. Turns out her actual keyword was ghost. I wonder if she got credit for that search. She did a good job though especially for someone who had no idea what a ghost mouse was. It turns out, by the way, that ghost mice is a band. Who knew?

...to PULL MY HAIR OUT. I've really enjoyed ChaCha, but the last two legitimate searches I've had the application has hiccoughed through the whole process. AHHHHHHHHH! Luckily it didn't lock us out and I was able to get a rating, but it was a very painful process! So S L O W.

Ok, I just had ANOTHER person tell me that I did a great job and found exactly what they wanted and then I look at my rating and it is BAD...why do people do that? I have done trainings that have not gone great, but I have yet to give anyone a bad...that is just WRONG!!

They really need to change the default on the smily thing. I've had four searches tonight where the infoseeker was thrilled with the searches and then didn't rate me. My poor fifth star is halfway gone. I think once we find them the information they leave. I hardly ever get a response when I ask if there is anything else I can do for them. Of course they don't rate me, they've already left. Well, at least I'm up to 54 dollars.

Wow, as a cha-cha guide i am upset about the last two post. I have been working for about a month now and it is slow for me as i am going to school and have two small children to deal with so my earning are slowly and i do mean slowly going up. I didn't know you could check your ratings. My last search this night was for some car and this person told me to find the F****** car now B****. So naturally i reported him and was hit on by someone else a few days ago. That was just upsetting. I have 12 keywords and have been done training on them for a few weeks now and haven't gotten anymore to add. How do i check my ratings, and when do i get more words. Good luck guides.

Well, I'm finally up and Cha Cha-ing!!!

I do admit I agree with everyone here that it is a little slow. I've had 3 trainings so far and 2 of those 3 have locked up before I could finish. So...no rating! But I'm at least getting practice.

I think once all the glitches are worked out, this should be a great site. Hoping it really takes off. Haven't gotten any of the bad trainings/searches yet that everyone is talking about, but I'm sure one will come along sooner or later. Still seems like fun though!

Other than that, how is everyone else doing?

I'm so thrilled with myself!
I got a real search(not a training one) for "cats dancing with hats". The guy wanted a picture of a cat dancing while wearing a tophat. And I actually found one! I couldnt' believe it! Neither could he/she. He told me "no bears please" which made me think he had already tried it and not gotten what he wanted.

Anyway, I'm so excited I found it! And cats is not at all one of my keywords(or hats or dancing).
