Have you guys heard of this yet? I've been doing it for about a month now & really enjoy it. Cha cha is a new search website. You are the person that does the actual searching for the user. From what I understand, on Good Morning America this morning, they are having a segment on it, if anyone's interested in watching. I know I will. It's great for those who work from home or want to make some extra cash while they're surfing the 'net.

I just want to remind everyone that Beth & I have had to close several Cha-Cha threads recently because of people posting that they have referrals to offer. We don't want to discourage the discussion but we have to follow the rules of the board, which means NO REFERRAL POSTS.

So, please, do not make posts that read "PM me for details" (you can mention details here), "Could someone PM me with a referral?" or "I have several Cha-Cha referrals for anyone that is interested". And most especially, DO NOT POST A REFERRAL LINK.

I'd like to keep this thread open and active for those of you who wish to discuss your experience with this company, so please follow the rules. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!

I am about to start w/ this program and I am wondering can you change your key words if you dont get enough work w/ the ones you currently have?

Yes, you can remove current keywords & add others. And as you go & get more searches under your belt, your number of keywords goes up. For instance, I think I started at 3 or 4 or whatever it is they start you with. I'm up to 27 now.

I missed the segment on Good Morning America this morning. Did anyone catch it?

I missed the GMA segment. The servers are being pushed to the limits this morning! Good for ChaCha. :thumbsup2

ETA: I've been a guide for about a month and I love it. With over 200 searches under my belt, I better. ;)

I missed it too and couldn't log in..lol I guess it will be a BUSY day!!! Good Luck everyone!

I saw the segment on Good Morning America this morning. It probably got a lot of people interested. I got a referral a week ago and never got around to signing up until I saw the segment. I thought I better get on the Cha Cha site right away and get signed up, before I wasn't able to. I had a little trouble at first getting on the site, but I did get signed up. I didn't get all the way through the newbie information before the site went down again. I will try again later.

I was just wondering if anyone can tell me how much you have made since you started with Cha Cha.

I have only been a guide with Chacha for a few days and I'm loving it! I didn't catch the GMA segment but from what I have read it was great!

So could you tell me a little bit on how easy or hard it is to be a guide?
How much pay?
I'm not sure if these questions are considered bad on this thread or not.
But I'm definitely interested in making a bit of cash if I could... :)

Thanks

It's very easy, and fun. If you use search engines, you can be a guide. Basically people will ask you to find them things, you search various sites that the chacha application pops up for you and send that to the people. It's all very automated & easy. As far as cash goes, you basically get paid per search. Time is incorporated in there too. I think the numbers they quote are $5-$10 per hour. That's based on if you actually were searching the entire hour, I assume. I don't plan on retiring on my chacha earnings. But the more I do it, the more cash builds up, and the more i can use on my next Disney trip.

I saw the GMA segment. I had never heard of them before. Sounds like a neat concept. I figured there would be a discussion here about it.

Of course the service has been down all day. Probably from the huge traffic. I've been dying to do some searches today. It's quite fun.

Invites are currently disabled due to the increased traffic on the site. They will be reopened on Thursday, I believe.

As far as earnings, I've earned about $105 over the past month.

Actually for me it was only down for a few hours. I've had access most of the day & have been able to send several invites.

I'd still like to hear some more reviews on the GMA segment. Maybe someone will eventually post it to youtube or something.

I'm actually having trouble finding some info through google so I thought I'd try to use this search engine and I'm not having any luck at all. I tried "searching with a guide" and I got her message saying "how can I help you" and I answered but my answer didn't show up and she didn't type anything else back. How well does this thing work as a search engine? Not as a means of making money.

That’s strange that you rec’d no response. With all of the traffic yesterday, I know there are times when the application freezes up. The software is still in a testing phase, beta I believe it’s referred to. So they’re still working out the bugs & all. But from what I’ve seen & read, the search engine works very well. The main reason I like it better than Google & the other engines is that those engines rely solely on the specific language/wording you type in. But sometimes you’re just not sure what you’re looking for or need to explain it in more than a word or two. That’s a great aspect about chacha. You get to actually have a conversation with a real person & go into more detail about what you want. Being a guide, I really enjoy chatting with people about their searches. The other evening I had a 15 min discussion with someone about Disney during their search. It was great.

I typed in I wanted to sign up and all I got as " make a comment here" box ,,

:confused3 , they just wanted me to give them my name and email.

Maybe they don't need anymore searchers.

Sounds like a fun way to make some exta money.

Anyone care to share how much they've made so far and how
much time they've put in .

Most of the new prospective guides need to be sent an invitation from an existing guide. I know that chacha doesn’t provide a limitless number of invites. They do limit them. Being a guide for about 3 weeks now, I just recently received a few invites to send out. Once those are gone, I have to wait until I’m provided more. My guess is that chacha wants to make sure that the folks signing up are serious about being a guide. Can you imagine someone who was just casually interested or maybe just messing around becoming a guide? Then when a user requests a search, the guide doesn’t take it seriously, provides bad or no info, or starts smart talking in the chat? It would leave a bad impression on the user & that bad word would spread. I think the limiting of invites is more of a screening process. That being said, if someone is serious about becoming a guide, it can be very fun & actually addictive. I find myself chacha’ing more than just the normal, casual surfing I do. And to see my account go up after each search doesn’t hurt either. :yay:
