I was just wondering, how do you find people to give your cha cha invites out to? How do you determine if the person is really going to use it or if it's going to end up going to waste? I have 6 left to give out, but I'd really like to optimize them as much as possible! Any suggestions?

I have no help. I have gave out 3 of my invites and have 5 left.
One of my invites actually work, but the other 2 have never worked.

I asked both of them if they were serious about the program, and they stated they were. Who knows..maybe something came up..I don't know!

My one person who was working, has not worked for over 1 month.

Cha cha can be frustrating at times, but i think it has some promising features!

be careful handing them out.. I lost 5 this way... people need to research before they ask to take one.. you only get 8 for good! no more!

I agree. I lost 4 of this last round sending them to people who said they were dying to be a guide and only one of them has signed up. I'd hold out as long as you can unless you are SURE they are going to work!

Thanks.. that was what I was wondering, I didn't know how many you get total and I don't want to "waste" them if people really aren't going to work it. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to weed out the people who are really going to do it?

What is cha cha? Someone else posted about this on another thread, but didn't elaborate after being asked what it was.

Cha cha is an online search with guides. A lot of people have been signing up as guides. :)
I am using my money to earn enough for our fall trip and I know that's what a lot of other people are using it for.

I promise I would use it! I have applied twice using the link on the web site, but never heard back. I've been looking for someone to offer me one.

Let me remind everyone that it is against DIS policy to post or have in your signature that you have ChaCha invitations. Think of it this way: it would be considered advertising for you since you would make money from the referral. So therefore it is not permitted.

There are message boards dedicated specifically for Cha Cha Users. Cruisinfamily recommends this one: www.guideshq.com

Here is what she posted on another thread:

If you need an invitation, go to www.guideshq.com and post in the public invites forum and a chacha guide will respond to you right away. Just remember to come back to the forum and check for responses.

Also, for those of you that are already guides www.guideshq.com is a great place to talk all things chacha.

Also for those wanting to know what Cha Cha is:

From the "about us" page at www.chacha.com:
Our Story

ChaCha has set out to create a better search engine. But this is no easy task and will take some time to be perfected.

Scott Jones and Brad Bostic, two dynamic entrepreneurs, were not satisfied with millions of irrelevant search results and thought there could be a better experience. So the ChaCha team has been hard at work to create:

* A smart search engine powered by human intelligence.
* A place to find exactly what you're looking for without sifting through millions of results.
* Intelligent search results from people who are knowledgeable about the very thing you are looking for.

Remember, ChaCha is all about making the web more accessible, by giving you the most relevant results you need. And it's your choice whether to search with or without a guide. So come join our experiment and have some fun!
Why Search with a Guide?

By searching with a Guide your query is sent to a real person who is skilled at finding information on the internet and knowledgable on the subject at hand so that you get the few exact results you want, not the millions of results you don't.

ChaCha only provides quality, human approved results.
How does it work?

When your query is submitted it is sent to a Guide who is knowledgable in the topic you're searching.

Because we're so new, we have a limited pool of Guides to field these questions so you may at times be connected to a Guide who is not necessarily an expert on the subject. Rest assured that the Guide is still an expert in internet search and will most likely find you exactly what you need. If not, you may be transferred to a Guide who may have better insight into your question.
Who gets my query?

When your query is submitted, an alert is sent to all appropriate Guides who are currently signed in to the system. Because the Guides can see the question you submit, you can submit your question in natural language, just like you'd ask any person a question.

It also means that if you submit a question filled with non-specifics (like "foot") nonsensicals (like "asdfjlakjf"), you will most likely not get connected to a Guide because no one will accept it. Same goes for any profanity.

If you are at all profane or offensive during the chat session, your Guide will press a "Report Abuse" button, your IP address and the chat session will be logged, and you can prevented from using ChaCha in the future.
What do I do once I've asked my question?

Once connected to a Guide you can chat with him/her to clarify your question. Discussing your question will get more precise results than any other search engine can deliver.
Every time you use ChaCha it gets better

The more you use ChaCha, the smarter and faster ChaCha becomes! Because ChaCha indexes all the questions that are asked and associates them with the search engines and resources used by Guides, and the links visited by the users, ChaCha knows where to look and what the best human-approved resources are for each question or topic.
Why should I trust this guide?

The primary reason is that we pay them and their pay is directly related to their performance. At the end of every session, you can select between one and five stars to rate their performance. While we expect you to be honest when rating a Guide, ChaCha can also detect any needlessly malicious ratings.

Another reason is that everybody knows a lot about something - ChaCha is able to connect you with the somebody who knows the something you want to know. Not only can they point you in the right direction, we've often found that communicating with a Guide can expand your general knowledge on the subject or even turn you on to new or different information that's even more relevant to what you're searching for.

Since there is a real temptation to try to "drum up interest" (and then solicit refer-ees) so to speak on the DIS, we would really prefer that you do your Cha Cha discussion on boards devoted specifically for them.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

I'm sorry Beth! I didn't realize. I knew we weren't supposed to try and solicit, but I didn't realize you didn't want us talking about it. I was just trying to get some info (I don't have time for another forum! LOL)

Just an FYI since you are new.

I think people offering invites should let those requesting invites know how they work right from the start.

I was lucky enough to receive an invite from a DISer.(thanks:thumbsup2 ) At the time I didn't know how they worked. Had I'd known I would have declined the invite. Not because I don't want to work, but because I feel obligated to do so. Knowing how the program is set up, I feel bad that she wasn't able to give the invite to someone who has the time to work much more than I do.
