OK. Since most of you probably have read the Shhh!! Its a Surprise - Prologue: Character Development and Background by GrowinupDisney, I wont bore you with the details by rehashing it here. I will however change the names to protect the innocent (or the guilty, whichever it may be). These are going to be secondary reports from my point of view so most of the details will probably be more accurate in her reports. I simply want to post some reports even though it is technically the same trip. I hope you enjoy.
Im not partial to the whole DW, DH, etc. I find it to be very impersonal. I would like to give everyone a new call sign.
New Call Signs
Tausha will now be known as TGB or Tour Guide Barbie. This is an inside joke.
Chris will continue to be Panda. Nuff said.
Julie will now be known as Nala. Because according to her, she is most like Nala.
Me. I will always be me. What else could I be but what I am? A Dude.
On With The Show
As has been previously explained, we are all serious Disney fiends. Nala and I are both Annual Passholders to Disneyland and we go every few months. We are veterans of many Disney campaigns. TGB would probably go more too but she is building a career for herself and her and Panda would like to buy a house soon. When TGB started planning this trip back in August, for Pandas bday in January, she told us right away it was supposed to be a SURPRISE and to not say anything for the next 5 months. Right. This family can talk Congress into a stupor and she wanted us to be secret? Talk to the CIA about keeping secrets.
By the time this was all said and done, tribesmen in Outer Mongolia knew about this trip but not Panda. Oblivious. Now mind you, he did know something was up. As we kept getting closer to the date it was harder for TGB to get things arranged without his knowing. He actually though he was going on a cruise. Poor Devil!!
Panda was in for a surprise. He had not been to WDW since he was a kid. Poor Devil!! Nala and I had gone back in 99 and then her and TGB went the next year. Panda Home Alone. The poor guy probably deserved some thing adventurous for his bday, right?? (this is where you all go, YEAH! and pump your fist in the air). So now TGB starts the serious planning. We (Nala and I) got a daily SITREP from TGB as to places to eat, shows to see, etc. I can honestly say I have never seen this much planning for a trip before. Spreadsheets for daily schedules. Times, places, dates. Anal. Dont get me wrong it was great! We hit almost all of the major attractions and restaurants and still had some time to spare. Good job, TGB.
I can say this though; the DIS was very instrumental in TGBs planning and execution of this great adventure. I myself didnt start reading the posts on the DIS until we were already back, but I can see them being very informative if not downright funny (see postings by delswife) in planning another trip.

Well I guess this should be interesting - Hey I'll make you a deal - don't say anything embarassing about me and I will do the same for you. Well just tell them all about Panda and Nala's misadventures !! (Milk and Gravy anyone!! or "I got skills, I got game!!)
