CG & WCC, or Kona & CMC?

This is kind of like a giant logic puzzle :)

My BFF and I are taking a couple of trips to the World. She loves crab legs, so as the planner I'm trying to decide how I would prefer to give her the opportunity to get them. (LOL!) It will either be on Trip 1 in May, or Trip 2 in July -- she is fine with either.

Option 1: Captain's Grille (May) and Whispering Canyon (July)
Option 2: Kona (May) and Cape May Cafe (July)

The dinner in May needs to be adult-ish, as my aunt and uncle (who have upscale tastes and love MEAT) will be joining us, as they drop off my 13 & 14yo cousins.

July is a group of four 20something girls, including a very picky eater, a vegetarian (me), and someone who is seafood-allergic.

Option 1 sounds like a better fit for those reasons, but OTOH, I really like the idea of eating at Kona and then staying and watching fireworks on the beach afterwards as the start to our WDW trip. I only have my cousins for the weekend, so that's the only opportunity for that.

WWYD?

Kona used to be a favorite, but our last 2 dinners have been horrible. Bland, somewhat warm food, HORRIBLE service - our food was basically thrown across the table at the person on the end to hand out to the rest of our table. We love the Poly but we won't be back! Maybe it was free dining (which we weren't even on) but it was a nightmare!!

I really like cape may but if your friend is alergic to seafood thats one of the worst places she can go. When I ate at Cona it was great, but i had breakfast and it was maybe 5 years ago...so. I hope you have fun on your trips :)

I apologize, I double-checked and she's not allergic, just doesn't like it. So we have a crab leg lover, non-picky eater who doesn't like seafood, picky eater (think basic kid staples) and a mushroom- and mango-allergic vegetarian. I know Cape May is seafood-based, but I thought there would be enough other options for the rest of us?

Thanks for the input thus far. Sounds like CG & WCC is in the lead, lol. :)

Does anyone know whether the chef's pasta creation is customizable, or like a pick-of-the-day type thing? The CG veg entree is mushroom-based and I can't have that. (I'm so dang hard to feed!)
