Just out of curiosity, has anyone ever tried ordering sushi at California Grill with the rice paper instead of the seaweed? If so were they accomodating to your request?

I can't say I have but I can say from experience that they have always accommodated any request that was within their power to do so meaning, if they have the ingredients, odds are in your favor.

I know I had something made from rice paper at a food and wine event there, but I don't know if they have it on a regular basis.

The best you can do is ask your server to find out if Yoshie (their head sushi chef) is able to make sushi rolls from rice paper instead of nori (aka seaweed paper).

I know they have the paper because the Shrimp tempura roll is made from it. But wasn't sure if it was acceptable to ask or not. I don't want them looking at me like I'm rude or crazy
