Any warnings/horror stories? I want to get a few more memory cards. Several "Amazon merchants" have SanDisk CF Ultra IIs at great prices. Their Amazon listed ratings are all high. Plus amazon provides a guarantee, and you pay thru amazon, so these guys aren't getting your credit card #.

Should I be wary of CF cards at low rates? :confused3 (I fear stories like "they explode once in your camera.... :crazy:

I've bought CF cards, through Amazon, ecost and buy.com and have had great experiences with all of them. :thumbsup2

newegg and zipzoomfly are both reputable online merchants.

Only one problem with buying online... I received a faulty CF card and had to pay shipping back to the reputable supplier, which made the great deal not so great anymore.

Fortunately, it's rare. I have bought almost all my CF cards online.

I'll second the vote for newegg.com. I have purchase all of my memory cards from them over the years and have never been dissapointed.

just make sure you ask whether the CF card has serial number or not. Grey or black.

if it's grey: it's counterfeit Ultra II
it it doesn't have serial number: it's counterfeit Ultra II

Another good tip I have not heard of...

as for online stores sheck them out at www.resellerratings.com
but beware of the stores that post fake good reviews.

Thanks all; the counterfeit info was new to me - thanks for the heads up!

And yup, big fan here of resellerratings.com!

Sometimes these resellers say the cards are from bulk packages, so not in original package. What's the story with that?

Either way, for $30 I'll give one guy a try and check out that UPC code; I'll let y'all know how it goes! :thumbsup2

p.s. What is OEM?

OEM = Original Equipment Manufacturer

PS check the serial number printed on the side of the card, not UPC code. UPC code is easy to counterfeit, but not serial number because it's pressure-stamped creating etched-like result.
