Certain Use Years on Wait-list for AKV!

I called to add on to AKV today and was informed that they have sold out of October UY points and have to put me on the wait-list for the next phase to open which would probably be mid-summer. Unfortunately I need these points now to make a June reservation so I had to add-on elsewhere.

Hold on. Don't add on somewhere just because they don't have points available. If you want a AKV add on then that's what you should wait for. Did you think about transferring in points for your June reservation?

Yes, take a point transfer. I have Oct UY too, I was thinking of a point add on. Now the pressure is off for a while. Thanks for the heads up.

I could have only imagined that they would be sold out of Oct UY becuase for the incentive that was supposedly ending this past week they gave everyone that bought in an Oct UY. Well at least they gave me my sister, and my friend and OCt UY.

I have tried. I only need 5 points to make the reservation and NO ONE wants to do a 5 point transfer. I am going to add on more WLV points so I am not THAT sad, honestly, but I did have my heart set on AKV first.

FYI, my guide and I were also talking and he said that SSR is only about 89% sold at this point. It probably won't be sold out until July/August.

My guide said they used the Oct UY points for most of their sales during the holidays (while promotions were going on). He also said now some points will become available as people dont return their paperwork / contracts in time and the points open back up.

I would go on the waitlist for points before getting them somewhere else.

I am only referring to the Oct UY points at AKV. I am not sure about the other UY's right now. Best bet would be to call your guide and have him check the availability of the UY you want. Either way points will continue to open up at AKV as construction moves forward on Kidani.

We are buying into AK (almost 100% sure) based on the offer we got on the cruise last week. They said the UY available to us was Dec.

I'm not sure. He said there were a couple of UY's that are now "currently sold-out". I only know of October. I didn't ask what other UY's were waitlisted also.

I just called our guide to tell him we want 50 points with a Dec UY add on at AKV. I hope they still have availability!!!

Actually, Oct is a really BAD time if you travel in the summer. That means if you have to cancel the last minute, you lose a lot of points. But it all depends on when you travel...

I never thought about not returning my paperwork. WOW that really happens. I what happens to those peoples deposits? Do you think they get them back? YEAH RIGHT!!!

Oh like me with the OCT UY and I am a teacher so I will always travel in the summer time. Its my vacation time. If I decided to cancel I would lose a significant number of points. I wonder if I called my guide since I havent passed my closing date yet if he would be willing to change my closing date.

The available UYs change daily. Last week we added on additional Oct AKV. At the time of my call there were only 850 Oct points available. By the time our Guide entered our sale into the system, about a hour latter, the points were gone. We had to wait 2 days until more Oct points became available.

The way to pick your UY is take the travel window that you enjoy, add 6 months and that's your best UY. We like to travel between Oct and April every years. 6 months after April is Oct. We get more points every Oct and our banking cut off with Oct UY is May 31. If we need to cancel a April trip we still have until May 31 to bank the points. This works for us but you mileage my vary.
