ok so we can't afford to have kids at our wedding, but i was wondering if it is ok if they attend the ceremony and then go to one of the babysitting sites during the reception? i know disney is kind of funny about some things so i want to make sure we can do this without it counting as part of our guest count?? also we will be having a infant at the reception that wont be eating or taking a seat this doesn't count does it? Thanks guys dont know what i would do without everyones help so far :goodvibes

For food, kids are half price. At least they were when we had our wedding, I would check on this as the rules may have changed since our wedding. As for having them go off after the ceremony, I would check with your WP. I am not sure what the Disney policy is.

I heard that kids under 10 don't count for the food and drink minimum per person charge - since I am doing a custom on a Saturday evening this is $100/head. Does anyone know if this is actually true. I don't want to tell people they aren't allowed to bring their kids, but I also don't want to spend that kind of money on them.

Our planner said that kids under 3 are totally free - she'll order them a kids meal if we want, but we won't be charged for it. For kids 3-10, we can have them eat off the buffet for 1/2 price or order them a kids meal for approx $20. We're going to do the kids meal since my 3 year old niece prefers chicken nuggets to any other food on the planet! :)

We were told they wouldn't count in our official guest count (in addition to the 3 year old we'll have a 2 year old and a 1 year old) but that we will have to pay the Illuminations viewing fee (a whopping $12.50) for the 3 year old.

I would guess then that really young kids probably won't count in your total, and if you're having a custom I think anyone extra can come to the ceremony that you want. Best idea is always to check with Disney.

As far as going to the ceremony and then going off to babysitting, that was our original idea too until I found out it would only cost $32.50 for us to have all 3 kids come to the reception and to feed them - babysitting would have cost more than that for us!

Thanks for that. I don't care if kids come to the reception - I was just hoping that they would not count for the food/bev minimum. Right now, we are thinking about food stations for the reception. I think it would be cute to have a kids station.
