How much of your ceremony did you plan? I'm using Rev. Knox, and he sent us a whole packet of vows, ceremony samples, etc. We found super cute vows on the internet that I wouldn't mind adapting (very non-traditional, but they're perfect for us). I just don't want our ceremony to be three minutes long... so I'm completely at a loss for what to do.
We want it to be lighthearted... so I think we're going to have to make a few changes. I'm starting to stress out a little over it and DF thinks that we can just cut and paste names and we can get through it in a half hour... but I'd like to make it a *little* more personal. (Blessing of the hands, etc)
What did you do for your ceremonies? How did you do it? Help!! :confused3

TIA for any suggestions!!

we wrote our own ceremony & vows for our march wedding. we had a light hearted introduction welcoming everyone & talking about how we meet & our lives from here, etc. we had a prayer & a moment of silence (it gave us both a chance to catch our breaths & admire eachother). then we had our first reading, family candle ceremony, 2nd reading, rose ceremony to thank our moms, then we had a religious homily, followed by saying our vows & exchanging rings. then we lite our unity candle & were announced man & wife. had the big kiss & recessional. we also incorporated music into our ceremony which created great atmosphere along with the words. everyone commented on what a beautiful ceremony it was & rev. herring did a great job reading it. i love that our ceremony was personal.

I used Rev. Kevin's package as a basis, then I customized adapted it. We did the more traditional vows, I added a few lines that I found on the internet, and we did a blessing of the hands.

I guess it took about 15 minutes or so from start to finish.

It was very important to us that it be more casual, not especially faith based (although there was a little of that thrown in), and as lighthearted as Rev. Kevin wanted to make it.

I am glad that I took the time to customize my vows. Now I have them stored in my computer forever!
