It's 11 pm and I just polished off a bowl of cereal. I like the kind with lots of nuts and fruits in it. I'm not a fan of the the super sugary kind but I wouldn't turn my nose up at most any cereal. What about you? What is your favorite or do you not care for cereal. I know this is a burning question, lol!

I only eat cereal for breakfast but not everyday or anything. I always put some type of fruit in the bowl whether it's a banana, some frozen berries or raisons, throw in a handful of granola, sprinkle with seeds (hemp and chia) and top with almond milk. My DH eats cereal everyday before work and every night before bed, some type of granola. I would never eat anything that often but he likes it I guess.

My mom would have a bowl of cereal every night, and got me hooked. Used to have DS ea it at night too, to help gain a little weight. Love all kids of cereals. Saw Star Wars cereal today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:darth::chewy::thumbsup2

So that's why I'm gaining weight?????!!!!!! Jk

I only eat it for breakfast most mornings. Usually honey nut cheerios with skim milk but I am watching carbs and just looked up how many it has...22gm yikes!

Can anyone recommend a low carb cereal? Does that even exist?

I remember a few years back I was on the South Beach Diet which is low carb. The only recommended cereal was Uncle Sam. It has flax in it I remember. I wasn't a fan, but dh got hooked. Maybe he was desperate?

...and that right there is the problem with eating it (or anything else) at night {{sigh}}. I usually have a bowl for breakfast on Saturday mornings, which I look forward to all week. We've recently made a pact to quit eating take-out for dinner cold turkey, even if that means that some nights we end up having cereal for dinner. I also love nothing better than Honeycomb straight out of the box as a sweet snack but I rarely buy it because it just goes down too easy and well, see my opening line above.

I only eat cereal before a long run or bike ride because it gives me so much energy and I don't feel hungry during my workout. My favorite is Great Grains by Post. It's the only thing that got me through my half marathon training!

I'm not a cereal fan at all. I don't like it and don't keep it in the house. Mostly because I don't like milk at all. If I do eat cereal, I eat it dry. But I'll only eat it if it's the only option.

No cereal for me but I do like oatmeal.
I have it for breakfast 3 or 4 times a week.

DH eats cereal for breakfast every single morning, and for the first 10 years we lived together (give or take), that cereal was Cheerios. Traditional, old-fashioned Cheerios in the bright yellow box, and it had to be the real thing; no store brand knock-offs. He's expanded his palate and now enjoys Raisin Bran, Life, Wheaties, Crispix, Chex, Grape Nuts, Cheerios, Honey Nut Cheerios, and Multigrain Cheerios, but his new ultimate all-time favorite is Shredded Wheat 'n Bran. Except for the regular Cheerios, Raisin Bran (Kellogg's only) and Shredded Wheat n' Bran, he'll eat both the "big name" and store brand versions.

Me? I try to stay away from cereal because of the carbs, although I just started working out in the early evenings (around 6pm, only time it fits the schedule) and find I am not hungry when I get home. However, around 9pm when I am finally hungry, I've had a bowl of Raisin Bran instead of supper. I know this isn't good, but I'm working on it. RIght now, I am more focused on establishing the regular exercise routine than anything else. If I were to become a regular cereal eater, it would be ugly, because my favorites are Sugar Smacks, Lucky Charms, Froot Loops, Apple Jacks, and Cocoa Krispies. I just love the junk cereals, and can eat a box in a day or two, which is EXACTLY why I don't buy any of them! HOWEVER... when DD and I take a road trip, our favorite "car food" is brown-sugar frosted mini-wheats. I put the entire box in a large ziplock bag and it stays in the front seat with us, ready for snacking at any time!

cant remember the last time I ate cereal, but if I did, I would eat frosted flakes. because after all, as we all know...they're GRRRRREAT!!!

I personally don't eat it often because the kinds I generally like are horrible for you.

But cereal is big in this household. DH eats it as meals and snacks...My kids snack on it with milk or dry. This is embarrassing to admit, but I work in the evenings and DH has the kids two of those evenings. If they don't order pizza or eat out, it's cereal for dinner.

I would occasionally have cereal in the morning, vanilla almond special K was my favorite. Now I'm eating low carb so cereal is not an option anymore.
My two ds will eat cereal all day if I let them, my dd doesn't eat it at all.

Love, love, love cereal!!!
I could eat it for every meal, and there's been times that I have
I always have a bowl in the morning.
I sometimes have a bowl for lunch
If we get home later (after 8 and normally during softball season) I have a bowl for dinner too :thumbsup2

Cereal has always been a go-to snack for me. When I was a teen I made oatmeal for my afternoon snack after school. My brother practically lived on cold cereal and milk as a child.
I don't like the ones with lots of sugar, sticking to things like Life, Cheerios Multi-Grain, Honey Bunches of Oats, Basic Four and others.

The one good thing about my children's love of cereal is that they actually prefer the "healthier" cereals(I know... My perfect little snowflakes :) ).
My DD's favorite is Crackin' Oat Bran and DS's is any of kind of Life.

I really like cereal, but I really only eat it for breakfast. As a kid I loved the sugary cereals like Lucky Charms and Count Chocula, but now that I am an adult I try and stay away from those cereals. I mostly eat Raisin Bran, Cheerios, and Rice Krispies now.

I love cereal. Eating a bowl of Captain Crunch right now. When my DH is traveling for work I usually feed the kids "kid food" for dinner and have cereal for myself. I love all the kid cereals, frosted Flakes, Honeycombs, Rice Krispies, etc. And I am not overweight at all, actually I'm pretty thin. I'm also lactose intolerant but milk doesn't other me at all when I eat it in cereal so I figure it is a good way to get my vitamin D and calcium in.
