Hi all.
I'm listening to a podcast from 10/23/14 and they talked about the injuries report in regards to the theme parks and I'm wondering if they released on for the fourth quarter 2014 and the first quarter of 2015?
My niece was injured in early November last year and I'm curious to see if they reported it
It was quite bad, she got cleaned up pretty badly by someone in a wheelchair who didn't even stop to see if she was ok. She's 3 and wasn't being baughty or misbehaving, she had my sister's hand and ended up smacking her face on the metal around the wheel and the concrete, ended up with a huge black eye, a large lump on her head, all on their last day of their first ever orlando trip, in universal.

@jcb I'm not sure if you take an interest in these things and had come across them?

Every time they give that report, I think we all wonder what actually gets reported. With 20 million visitors each year, surely there are more injuries than what that report mentions. There must be dozens of things happening throughout the resort every day. People falling. Getting sick on rides. Suffering medical emergencies of all sorts. The numbers in those reports seem unbelievably low.

Thanks Jack and Steve.

Ok, so things that happen around the park, such as the situation my niece was in, don't get reported?
It's just a gague on how attractions injure people?

Yup. I expect the Florida agency that worked out the agreement with the theme parks is in charge of ride safety.

Thanks Jack and Steve.

So sorry to hear what happened to your niece, Jess, and I hope she made a full recovery, poor little thing!

I want second with what Heidi said and say that I'm sorry that happened to your niece.

I hate to say it, but I think that the public and the media are fascinated with injuries/illnesses that mention an attraction, it makes for better headlines. Like Steve said, they really don't tell you much of anything in the reports.

Now, I think your family needs a makeup trip.:teeth:

It's very lucky that my DBiL wasn't in the immediate vicinity... He may have ended up in Universal's version of Disney Jail ;-)

I have no idea how to post pics from my phone (it just sits like it's loading for ages) because with the permission of my sister @minniemumma id show you want my baby girl ended up looking like. She's a troopers tough.
When we picked them up from the airport "Aunty Shessie! Look at my ouch!" Or something along those lines.

I'd just have been curious as to how they'd have reported it, knowing what the real story was.
