I was trying to budget for ceterpieces for our wedding and was wondering if the prices on Wishbook are realistic? I noticed they were quite expensive. I was thinking of renting glass bowls and have floating candles and flower petals instead of a full floral centerpiece. Has anyone had this at there's? Do you know how much Disney chargess to rent things like that for the day?

OR does anyone have simple centerpiece ideas that are inexpensiive for the :earsgirl: :earsboy: Living Seas?

Thanks

we're diy-ing & bringing down our own centerpieces as i agree the charge per centerpiece i felt was expensive. we are using 2 glass bowls with water, shells & a candle inside on each table for our centerpieces along with a square mirror with each tables theme name & figure in the middle of the 2 glass bowls. on each mirror there is stones & the theme ie finding nemo figures for the kids table, a mermaid statue for the mermaid lagoon table. we bought the glass bowls at the dollarstore, along with the shells & rocks. so you can easily do a cheap yet elegant centerpiece on your own. the candles i bought from a candleman & the mirrors from ikea, the theme items from here & there.

twojo21 - Is disney going to set these up for you? That was my concern with bringing my own items. I wasn't sure how much setting up of my own stuff they would do.

I am curious about this also. We are having our reception at the LS so I was thinking of putting votives on the tables and sprinkling rose petals.

I hope it is not to expensive through Disney because I worry about having to bring the stuff down with us.

Does Disney charge a fee to set the stuff up?

my em told me the florist would set up our centerpieces for $75. i'm going to give them a picture & instructions so theyre just right.

If Disney's florist set them up, do they take them down too? Do you take them with you as you leave the reception or are they sent to someone's hotel room?
Sorry to ask more questions-just thought if you went DIY, wanted to know what would be involved :)
Thanks all!

we plan on using the bellman service my em said could collect our wedding items & gifts to place in our room after the reception while were at our dessert party, cant remember the price but similiar to the setup fee or maybe the same. were going to keep all the wedding pieces in the guys getting ready room which will be empty for shipment home the next day.

Hi there!

My em told me that disney fairy tale weddings doesn't have a bellman to collect our things and send them to our room. We are bringing quite a few items down to decorate for our Christmas themed wedding and the bellman is what I wanted. Any suggestions on how to get this if my em said no. I also think my em is fairly new so maybe she just doesn't know this information??

Thanks everyone!

I think that depends where the reception is! @ the deluxe hotels they definetly have bellman services within the resort (but maybe not from the convention centers) but at the park spots I am not sure!

I don't think that they offer bell services outside the resorts. My EM collected the few things we had brought with us (our cake cutting knife) and the things she thought we would want to keep (our unity candles we bought from Disney, extra favors, etc.) and gave them to my mom at the end of the night. I'm not sure how it would work to have a lot of things, such as centerpieces. Perhaps Disney floral picks them up at the end of the evening? I'm just not sure.

Thanks for the help everyone. I think after I get a quote from Disney I might be bringing my centerpieces down. It seems like I will save money that way. That was a good idea to take photos of how i want it an give it to them. thanks.

p.s. is anyone willing to post any phtoos of their LS centerpieces for ideas?

thanks again

our reception is at ariels at the beach club, our room is at the yacht club so my em said bellman services could bring up our items & wedding gifts, i would check with your em about the bellmen services where youre reception venue is.

Hopefully someone finds this here and responds! We are having our reception in the Living Seas in July. At first I was happy with the tables and the blue tablecloths, because my color scheme was blues. However, I might change all that now that I bought my dress. Does anyone know if it is possible to change the tablecloths at the LS? And does anyone know what the cost is per table?

Thank you

I just got back from my site visit and we're also having our reception at the LS, but next August. You can have the choice of the blue clothes that are already there or plain white linen at no extra charge. We're going with the white to brighten the room up. Table clothes is not where I want to spend my money. Go for the white, it goes with everything and there's no extra charge.

Oh thank you so much for that info! I am happy now! White would be great and you are right it will brighten up the room. Plus with no extra fee who can complain!! thanks again

Just wanted to bump this up...plus I wanted to add another question. I have seen several pictures of centerpeices, plus saw some in the STVS videos of weddings where they had glass bowls, with water filled, candles floating, with flower petals scattered around on the table. I'm sure you've seen them! That's exactly what I want to do, but I was wondering if Disney offers a set-up like this to rent? I've heard of people renting lanterns and other things, but what about these glass bowls I've seen?

If anyone can help out I'd apprecaite it, casue if I can I'd rather not have to travel with too much stuff myself.

also, does anyone know what the cost is for Disney to set up the centerpieces if I am bringing them down? I heard 75 dollars, but is that it? sounds low to me.

Thanks

my centerpieces are somewhat similiar when i got a quote from disney for the glass bowls with candles & shells the centerpieces they were $70 for each table so 7 tables, $490. i saved by doing them diy & bringing them with.

Thanks twojo21! Wow that is a pretty high price. I have 10 tables at mine so that would be 700 dollars :earseek: I think after I get a quote from Disney I am going to bring them myself. Do you know how much the set-up cost is going to be?

I believe that the setup charge is $75... read that somewhere, maybe earlier in this thread ;)
