Centerpieces

I was wondering if anyone used something other than flowers for their centerpieces or even with a few flowers.

I have seen a lot of brides use floating candles for centerpieces or a bowl with water and a few floating flowers and candle. It is much more economical and flowers die anyways.

I'm not having flowers either, i'm just having floating candles and shells things like that, as i'm going for the nautical theme!.

I'm doing real pumpkins.

Working on finding a pretty way to mount them on wheels Cinderella-esq.
Found some cute little mice to drive my carriages at a cake shop, and got some great ideas to cut windows out and add a candle via these boards.

Here's mine. I found the idea on another forum. I loved it right away. I found the glass cylinders at WalMart. Some were less than $1. The rose petals and candles are quite affordable too. I'm doing a long banquet table, and I think this will look great down the middle of the table. It's easy to do, too. I'm putting square mirrored tiles down first. I don't want the rose petals to stain the table cloth. The flowers are just in highball glasses. It's really simple.

I completely forgot to take pics of my centerpieces before we drove them to Florida a few weeks ago. We left them there so we wouldn't have to worry about shipping them for the wedding. They are glass vases that are more narrow on the bottom and look like a fish bowl on the top. We wrapped wide red ribbon around the base and hot glued white flowers on an irridescent silver ribbon. We are going to have floating candles in them, I think... not sure yet...

We used an ivy bowl (like the goldfish bowls at the fair) on a mirror. In the bowl we put red flat marbles and filled them about 1/2 way. We used 1 round floating candle that was lit and 2 little heart candles that we didn't light. We had the plastic fake "jewels" on the mirror around the base of the bowl and did a little mixed red and silver confetti down the center of each table.

we used glass bowls with shells & floating candles on each table along with an individual table theme item on each table as our centerpieces that we made/put together.

I am using lighthouses at the Living Seas! I won't post a pic since all I have are the lighthouses. I didn't make the actual centerpieces yet, and twojo posted her lighthouse which looks great! I didn't really want flowers either.

Er went very simplistic with ours. I just placed 3 white, multi tiered candles on a glass plate and surrounded them with river rocks. Simple, and went with our reception site. We then sprinked dried flower petals (from various family members gardens) on the tables too.

There was a Disney bride awhile ago that did balloons. The reception was at
Atlantic Dance Hall and she had a few Mickey shapped balloons in her wedding colors along with some regular ones. They looked really great. If I find the pictures I'll try to post it. I printed out a picture of it because I reallly liked the look. Not sure how expensive it was but I am sure it was less then flowers. I am ok with flowers but would perfer something else. For all the expense they do not last. I would actually like a potted plant (maybe mums) and give these out after the wedding but as a Disney wedding will be an away wedding - people would not be able to bring them home.

I love the candle in glass cylinder idea and the sand castle idea. Not sure if we are going with Atlantic Dance Hall or Ariels - i think the place will determine our centerpiece.

Keep in mind that our home wedding (I'm honeymooning in Disney) is in a Spanish Mission. Our's will be something similar to this...maybe with or without the flowers in it. However, we will have other flower arrangements on the tables too.

Wow, they all look brilliant!... i love the lighthouse one!, but the baloon one sounds cool to!. So if i let Disney design the tables, do i still need to go and buy all the things or do they do that for you?

I'm not doing flowers either. I will have a candle lamp (candle instead of lightbulb) with a chandeleir-like shade setting atop a square mirror and surrounded by smaller candles in candle stands of different heights and also surrounded by white rose petals. The tables have a double table cover w/ the top a periwinkle color - so I'm hoping the white petals really stand out. I'll have to post some pictures afterwards!!!

If you give your instructions as to how you want it set up to your site staff, they will set these up along with your place settings.

How about putting mini cakes as centerpieces? Or a cake stand with the favors stacked on it?..with a few candles scattered around the table

How about Disney Paper Models?

A friend used these are their centerpieces last weekend. They were awesome, and I took one home!

They rotate through which are available on the website - but at the wedding, they had:
Disneyland Castle
Haunted Mansion (2 different ones)
Disneyland Marquee
Contemporary Hotel
20,000 Leagues
Space Mountain
Teacup

They printed them on heavy cardstock. Used a scoring tool (or dull scissors, or a mechanical pencil with no lead) ..and glued them. They recommended using craft or wood glue, not elmers.
