Please bear with me, I am "smart phone stupid". :badpc:

I haven't used MDE in about one year...our last trip ended July 4th 2016. I went to use it last night so I could link our tickets and get ready to start making FP+ next week. When I tried to open the app, it asked me to sign in. OK, no problem. Put my credentials in, and then it said the version of MDE I have is out of date. I clicked to install the update and it says "Your device isn't compatible with this version". I tried to fully uninstall MDE and go back to the Google play store to reinstall it and got the same message. :confused3

My phone is 2.5 years old. I don't know anything about smart phones, barely know how to use it. It's an HTC Desire, I know that much. So I guess it's a "droid"? It was free when I got it, came with the plan I signed up for, so I presume it was older technology even in 2014.

I presume I need to upgrade my phone? Anyone know what the minimum requirements for the MDE app are? I am not getting some $300+ phone, to me it's an utter waste of money. Will the most basic and cheapest smart phone of today run the app? I'm thinking something like this... https://www.cricketwireless.com/cell-phones/smartphones/zte-sonata-3.html

on the app store it says it requires an android 5.0 and up. I have MetroPCS so all my phones I've used are Androids, the current one, just got last week cost me $150 so it doesn't have to be expensive.

Thanks. Hadn't thought of just using the website. Like I said, I'm smart phone stupid. I know how to check e-mail with it, know how to make a phone call, and know how to get to Google...I use that mostly for directions, because I've figured out how to talk to "OK Google" and tell it the address I want. Beyond that, I don't use any "smartphone" capabilities. No social media, I don't text, etc... If I replace this phone, it'll be with something under $50 at most.

I'll see if I can find an android 5.0. Even though my phone works just fine, after 2.5 years the battery is starting to lose capacity. I now have to charge it daily, where I used to be able to go 2-3 days.

I use the website too. I had an iPhone with an early version of the mde app. I'm pretty sure something in the app basically destroyed my phone. I haven't trusted it since. Now we are headed down in October and I am considering adding the current app to my phone. A bit leery though.

I also use the website and I have a newish iPhone.

I find the site more dependable than the app and a little (little) less glitchy. The app is pretty big on randomly closing on me these days.

I did create a shortcut to the site and added it to my home screen.

Thanks all!! I just went ahead and ordered a new phone through Cricket. I ordered the one I linked to above, the ZTE phone. It runs Android 6.0 according to the website, so the app should work. For $30, including shipping and activation, money well spent. Having a new battery will be nice, so I won't have to worry about charging it all the time.
