cell phone internet access at resort & parks

I see comments about lack of internet access, having to pay etc... what about internet access from iphones - does that not exist/work at WDW resort or parks? I am not bringing a laptop as I figured my iphone would be fine with the unlimited internet access. Will it not work... please help me understand. My first trip is in 14 days - Mar 15-20, 2011 for my grandson's 5th birthday, staying at AllStar Sports. Thanks!

Mine IPhone works great I usually only lose signal on some of the rides. Should have no problems.

The lack of Wi-Fi is the problem. If you have a phone with 3G capabilites you will have service anywhere there is a 3G tower close; Disney or otherwise.
As much as we pay for "Disney" I think they really should offer free Wi-Fi. Most places do. I love Disney but it rubs me the wrong way that they use Wi-Fi as another way to "make a buck".

Lines is a great Application for the Iphone for wait times. The cost is $10 (and you get a year subscription to touringplans.com) i believe but you get access to lines for wait times as well as touringplans.com for a crowd calendar and some itineraries for traveling the parks under various circumstances.

There also is a free wait time application called WDW Waits, you might want to check that out also
