Cell phone from Walmart?

Has anyone ever bought a cell phone from Walmart? I am looking at an LgEnv3 for verizon with my 2 year contract up. According to the website it would be free which is great. I don't want to buy online though so I am going to check it out at the store.

Does anyone have any experience purchasing a phone at Walmart? Good/bad experiences?

Yes! The phone that me and my son have right now we got at Walmart. I always purchase my phones at the Verizon stores but this time, I bought the phone [$89.00] and I happen to o to Walmart and I saw my phone [the one I just paid 89.00 for] for FREE!!!!!!! I was like this must be a joke. Luckily, I got a really nice employee who took the time to explain to me that they were identical phones and that I wouldn't lose anything or need anything special to get a Verizon phone at Walmart. I took my butt back to the Verizon store, returned my phone [I re-connected my old one as it was still in my car] and then I returned to Walmart and purchased the same exact phone for free.

The only difference is that you need [or at least I did] fill out a form and then the rep from Walmart calls Verizon to get all of the info they need to connect the new phone. It takes a little more time than at the Verizon store but look at the savings - it could be 100% off - I'll watch paint dry for that!

My advice, do it. You will not regret it.

mine is from walmart too. but it is through at & t. no problems or anything. they are dealers.

I got an email from Verizon today offering free activation Monday-Friday with online purchase. We have 4 phones on the family plane, so that saves alot.
I don't know if that is something you need to consider.
My phone was stolen at Disney last month, and a replacement which I ordered online came UPS in 2 days. I did go into the store to check them all out but saved a lot by ordering online.

Not sure but I believe that if you bought you phone at walmart and have insurance on it, that insurance is through your carrier, so return time would be the same, as Walmart does not send it to you the carrier does.

We bought our last phones at Walmart also, had the same expierence jsrj21 did. I looked at them online and they were one price then went to Walmart and they were Free and $18 so got them at Walmart.
