I would like to get a cell phone for my 93 year old dad. Does anyone have any recommendations? I thought I would check on the Jitterbug but thought I would ask here first. TIA.

AT&T sells one for elderly people. I can't remember the name of it. It is easy to use. I think it was like a light blue color. We had it for both of my DHs grandparents and my mom uses it because it says the number if who is calling (she has vision problems)
Thanks for posting that! I knew that existed, but I thought you had to be on a federal program no matter your income. My elderly mother qualifies just on her income (SS only), so we can do this instead of buying that box thing at Verizon. Yay!
Try Consumer Cellular. Plans start as low as 10.00 per month. You also get a discount if you are a AARP member. There is no contract and you change change your plan as often as you need to
My grandmother is on our family plan. We have her pay only the surcharge for an extra line ($10) and got her the simplest phone they have. Although she can and does text. Its funny to get a text from "Nana" who is going to be 90 this summer.
