dh and i were researching getting blackberry's and upgrading to data plans. we are currently with verizon (and pretty satisified with our service so far). however when we were price shopping the verzion plans seem so much compared to spring. at verizon we are looking at an extra $60.00 for us to get the data plans required for the blackberry. so our total bill would be around $170.00 a month for our 2 data plans and an extra line for my mom. i am not sure that we would use it that muc anyways. my husband is really thinking of switching to sprint bc we can get their data plan and add my mom's line for like $125 and that includes gps and other features. any suggestions? is it really worth it? :confused3

I'm not telling you not too but my coworker who had sprint switched to verizon, I have heard nothing but bad things about sprint and service issues here in ohio. I also have heard sprint customer service sucks. Also is you DH sure that is price the bill will be for length of contract as I've heard Sprint is famous for adding extra fees on 3 mos into contract.

I had sprint a million years ago... it was AWEFUL! We left sprint for verizon. They are def the best in the clarity department... u cant beat with anyone the way their calls are crystal clear. we had black berrys through them and found it to be worth it. Though we wanted Iphones and had to switch to ATT this summer to get them. so now we have att... I wont trade my iphone ever back for a blackberry...but the calls are NOT crystal clear like on verizons network...and I get more dropped calls with ATT...never had any with verizon

I think it depends on where you're located. I've had Sprint for about 12 years now...along with dh and dd. Never had a problem.

We pay $109 a month plus tax for 1500 anytime minutes and unlimited texting for 3 lines. The data plan would be another $20 a month per line. DH had it for a while but dropped it since he didn't really use it and couldn't see paying for it.

we have verizon (had just about all the others, including sprint which qualified as the absolute worst in customer service as well as poor in all other areas, and won't be going back:scared:).
check if anyone in your family works for a company that offers discounts with verizon: we put our service in dd's name b/c she works at home depot & gets 20-25% off service, as well as 50% off accessories, etc. makes the best service in our area much more affordable :)

I've had Sprint for 6 years or so customer service was a problem years ago but it's been great for last 5 years. I have 5 phones on the account full data, 1500 shared minutes or so, and insurance on all phones and pay 225ish for account. We do have the 9.99 charges from weird text stuff but Sprint is great about removing them, all I have to do is call. I would recommend Sprint to anyone. Coverage in my area is awesome (metro DC). Before you decide on any service make sure you check your area for coverage. DH has a Blackberry from work (diff account still sprint though) and he hates the phone for email and web browsing, get your hands on one to play with and see what you think. I have a Palm Pre and you'd have to pry it from my cold dead hands, it is so easy to use, was on it all day Black Friday shopping Amazon deals and price checking while in other stores, so much fun. The only problems that I have seen with it is battery will die in about 8 hours of serious use and there aren't as many apps available yet. If you do look at Sprint make sure you look at Pre and Blackberry.

Never had Verizon cell, had them for a month of land/dsl and dumped them, customer service was horrible, open a ticket with tech because it wasn't working schedule an appointment and no show, call verizon and they say it was canceled because ticket was closed and problem was fixed. This happened 3 times before I told them to cancel service, took me 6 months to get them to zero out the bill I refused to pay for service I never received.

Hope this helps
