We just returned from a week at Disney with my In-Laws, with a celiac MIL. Having researched here ahead of time, I thought I would comment quickly on her successes with gluten-free dining in Disney.
Highlights:
Kona Cafe - the chef made her a macadamia encrusted chicken dish (similar to the one on the menu). She absolutely loved it! They also brought out special rolls and butter for her.
50's Prime Time Cafe - Chef said he could make her ANYTHING from the menu gluten free. She had her first fried chicken in 10 years... Thought it was great!
Whispering Canyon Cafe - Gluten free pancakes... thought they were excellent.
Lowlights:
Pizzafari - She ordered the gluten free pizza. Apparently it tasted really bad... It was also nearly 10 dollars, about 4 dollars more than a normal pizza. I don't think it's appropriate for disney to upcharge for this convenience. Oh well.
Overall she had an amazing dining experience at Disney. The chefs are VERY accommodating and will try hard to satisfy. Gluten free dining gets an "A-" score!
