I've replied to celebrity sighting threads before but wanted to add another.

Previously we've seen Chris Evert, Rick Barry and Priest Holmes at WDW.

One afternoon this trip my youngest son and I were in the BW pool and I heard a guy behind me say something to his wife and I thought "man, that sounds like that guy from According to Jim that plays Jim Belushi's brother in law Andy. I turned around and could have sworn it was him. I looked to the right and there was another guy saying to his daughter "I swear it was him. I'm going to go talk to him".

This guy goes over and says "are you that guy that plays on that one show?" Now there's a compliment. The Andy character says "yes I am" and proceeds to introduce himself as Larry. My son and I slide over and introduce ourselves too. Larry was great. He was very open and friendly. We talked a little about the BW and WDW (his first time at the BW and his two younger kids first times at WDW). I told him that everytime I see a celebrity at WDW my wife doesn't believe me. She still doesn't believe the Chris Evert sighting at Blizzard Beach and it took some major convincing on the Rick Barry (ok, tall guy with big honking NBA championship ring and NBA Legends tee shirt on was a dead give away). Anyway, I didn't want to bother him too much so we said nice to meet you and went on our way.

We got back to the room and told my wife about the sighting. Of course my son, being the snot he is, tells my wife behind my back that we made the whole story up. It only took a little convincing that he was a snot and I wasn't making it up as who would pick a co-star of a show if they were going to make a celebrity sighting up?

The next morning, my son and I went down to the BW Bakery and who is in line in front of us? Yep, Larry. My son asked if I was going to say something to him and I told him no, lets let him enjoy his vacation without bugging him. We got back to the room and rubbed it in my wife's face that she should have went to the Bakery with us as she could have met Larry also.

It's neat to see people you think of as celebrities enjoying WDW just like us "normal" folk.

That's a great story! After all of our trips, we only had seen one celebrity, and we didn't know who she was. We asked someone that was with her group and apparently she was a big TeleMundo star. (She was incredibly tall and gorgeous!) We didn't bother her, and I don't know what I would do if I saw someone that I did recognize.
I would have loved to see Priest Holmes!! Even if I could have played it cool and left him alone, my DH would have probably been over there getting his autograph!! :thumbsup2

We saw Patrick Ewing checking into AKL a few months after it opened. Hard to miss him since he's over 6 feet tall. It was after he retired, so he didn't have a big entourage or anything, just his family.

DH and I saw Aaron Carter at MGM and there was a gaggle of giggling tweens folllowing (borderline chasing) him. It was really funny. That is our 1 and only celeb sighting at wdw.

Our one and only celebrity sighting was at MCO late one night. We arrived around 11:00 pm and as we were coming down the escalator to the baggage area, we saw David Carradine of Kung Fu fame. We didn't attempt to talk to him, just figured he was probably just trying to get out of the airport as fast as were were that late at night!

We saw the kids from Disney's High School Musical while we were waiting for TOT in April. We were getting ready to load and there were some teens ahead of us, wanting to ride together. Then one of those CM tour guide folks pulled them aside(I thought they were in trouble) and they were allowed to ride an "out of service" car. I thought nothing of it till we got off and went to see our photo. They were being ushered out the side door and DD11's jaw is on the floor and she's craning her neck to see. When she tells me who they were it clicked for me. I had just thought that they were atractive teens all excited to be at WDW. Found out they were at the opening celebration for Expedition: Everest.

My daughters saw Lindsey Lohan in the elevator at the BWI back in 2001 when she was sweet and innocent.

In Oct 2004 we were very excited to be sitting next to Phil Donahue, Marlo Thomas and their family at the HDDR!

I probably would never see a celebrity -- too distracted with other stuff to notice ... but would be sad if my DH didn't believe me!!! Are you prone to make up stories??? :confused3

Anyway, glad to read about your encounter. I always like reading about the celebrity sightings on other threads.

What a great story about Larry! My DH and I went to LA and say a taping of According to Jim . After the taping was finished, all the audience members started to file out. The cast was having a party on-stage. I told my DH, "let's just hang out till they throw us out." We were standing there watching it all, and several cast members talked to us. Larry heard us speaking and called us over. We must have a drawl or something (we're from Mississippi). He introduced himself, shook our hands, and asked where we were from. Said his best friend was from Jackson, MS. Jim Belushi was standing next to him and took our programs, autographed them, asked all about us. They were both just so very nice! Oh, and Courtney Thorne Smith talked to my DH...so now he can die and go to heaven! Glad to know Larry was great to you too!

We saw Wynonna Judd and her family at AK several years ago. We were trapped on a small porch of a gift shop with her during a rain storm. And then we were in the Rainforest Cafe Gift Shop at the same time. She just kept following us! Not very friendly or approachable, but after a long hot day at the AK, neither am I!

I saw Lawrence Taylor walking from the ferry to his car at the TTC!

Yesterday in Epcot, we saw John Gruden (Tampa Bay Bucs Coach) with his family.

George Lucas and his kids at dinner at the California Grill. It was 1999, a day or two before the big New Year's blow out. Very cool - absolutely EVERYONE recognized him (people sneaking sly looks over their shoulders, etc.) and absolutely NO ONE bothered him. Very cool. I carefully positioned myself at the table so it would <appear> that I was totally engrossed in my husband's conversation, but in reality I had a direct line of sight to G.L. :cool1:

My college roommate and I saw Englebert Humperdink in MGM many years ago. I didn't recognize him (I'm way too young and cool :smooth: ) but she did and she was so stunned she just kept saying over and over again "That's Englebert Humperdink! That's Englebert Humperdink!" He turned, smiled and waved, but kept walking. Finally I got out my camera and got a picture of the back of his head.

My celebrity sighting was Steve Tyler of Aerosmith. He was inside the Sci Fi Dine Inn having dinner with his family. My son saw him go in and told me about it when I checked us in. As we were being led back to our car/table, the Cast Member taking us back rounded the corner and stepped to the side a bit. I was too preoccupied right behind him and who should come the other way heading to the bathroom with his son? Yep, Steve Tyler. I almost knocked the man over! I think I said "excuse me" or something totally inane. My son (then 19) was totally awe struck. So was my husband (major Aerosmith fan). My in-laws had no idea. During that whole dinner, no one bothered Steve Tyler. Our server said they get celebrities in there all the time and no one ever intrudes on them eating. There was no entourage, just Steve Tyler, his then wife, his son, and another member of the band. Very cool.

When I worked there I got to see so many celebs...Bruce Willis, Demi Moore, James Earl Jones, Charles Barkley, Michael Jackson, Nell Carter, Joan Lunden (danced in the parade w/ her dd)....

and the absolute best one......Princess Diana! I did a private session with her, her friend and the boys and her friends' boys. She was very quiet as were her boys...the friend's boys, on the other hand, were terrible! Quite a once in a lifetime experience. :lovestruc

All interesting stories. I've never seen a celeb at WDW, but I did see racecar driver Tony Stewart at Disneyland.

I confess, I had no idea who he was, as I'm not into racing, but DH pointed him out. He was being escorted by one of those personal guide CM's.

We shopped with Kelly Ripa at the same table at the Contemporary Resort. She smiled at us but me the big dork was too shy to say "Hi".
