Celebrity encounters??

PuUtting aside that I've worked in the music industry on and off for 25 years (I'm on now) ao have met a ton of celebrities that way... Now I'm photographing and writing, and as such have been able to interview guys from a ton of bands--last week was Mike Mushok from Staind who was very funny and the perfect interview--he likes to talk, so I just turned the tape on and let him go! :)

In more random meetings or sightings... I saw Paul Simon do an illegal U-Turn in NYC a few years ago. I literally bumped into Jon Bon Jovi in the grocery store in Red Bank. I met Jay Leno at the Tonight Show (I was there with a band I was working for at the time.) I Saw Donovan McNabb at a grocery store outside Philly. I stood next to Drew Carey at the R&R Beach Club at PI for about 15 minutes before I realized who he was.

In all honesty I generally don't recognize people taken out of context, so I've probably had a lot more than that and just don't realize it.

Okay....this probably doesn't really count as meeting someone. On my honeymoon in 1992 we stayed at the Yacht Club. When we were getting ready to check out, I was riding in the elevator & a castmember was in there with some luggage & said "this is Wayne Gretzky's (sp?) luggage. He is checking in." Well, I do not know anything about sports, so I asked my husband who Wayne Gretzky is & he was so excited that I had ridden in the elevator with his luggage!! :rotfl:

Does anyone know if they still do the plaid cast member uniforms for VIP guests? Just curious cause I didnt notice any the last trip I made and most of the posts on here are from last year?:confused3

In December 2003 (I think it was) my DW and I were at Epcot right as the park opened and walking around and we passed Gary Sinise. I think he was there doing both the work for Mission and also as a CP Narrator. I looked at him but could place him right away and and I must have had that look on my face that says "I know you're famous but the name is not coming to me" he just smiled back and gave a wave to the DW and I.

I met Cheech Marin at a gallery exhibit. DH actually met him 3 times. I tried so hard not to crack up just thinking of Cheech & Chong:rotfl2:

My brother works at WDW and said he sees tons of celebrities with their families. The nicest ones are John Travolta and Tim Allen. He said Britney Spears was pretty rude...go figure! :goodvibes

I am SOOOOO jealous!!! I absolutely love Jon Bon Jovi and you bumped into him in the grocery store!? :cloud9: I think I would faint if I bumped into him! Is he as good looking close up as he is on stage or on camera? (Please don't answer that if you don't think he's good looking!!:lmao: )

My only celebrity encounter was at Islands of Adventure. We were walking through the kiddie ride area and just a few feet away from us stood Ron Howard!! I took some pictures, but he was in the middle of an interview, so we didn't get to actually meet him. It was exciting to be that close to a celebrity, though!!

So, I just got back from a disney Cruise, which was amazing, and I was sitting in the hot tub and this guy gets in and starts singing to himself.. I thought it was funny. But after a while I started thinkg to myself why he looked so familiar. After about 10 minutes I realized it was Andrea Bocelli! In a hot tub! on a disney cruise! haha.. I called my buddy over at UMVD and he said that he was taking some time before hitting the road to promote his new album comming out the 31st. Anyways.. thats my celebrity story.. Has anybody had a celebrity experience?
while at Epcot last Christmas my wife and I went to The candle light processional with Gary Sinise from CSI NY after the show was over I was comming out of the restroom and literally ran into Gary he wss very nice about it but he was in a hurry, that was one of the highlights of the trip

I saw Mark Harmon getting into a car at BWV about 8 or so years ago....I saw Billy Crystal on the streets of New York.

But my favorite celeb sighting was attending a Paul McCartney press conference about 15 years ago!

My husband and I saw Joey Fatone from NSYNC/Dancing With The Stars last September at ABC Commissary. I took his picture from afar because I was too afraid to go talk to him. I'm a big chicken! I used to LOVE NSYNC back in the day so I regret that I didn't get his autograph or my picture taken with him!

Two weeks ago, Ice-T was at Ecpot with his girlfriend Coco. Looks exactly the same, couldn't miss him. Asked to take a picture of him and Coco and then reciprocated. Very cool, very polite, very "real".

I've seen Jon Bongiovi a few times at Modell's and Best Buy in Holmdel, NJ. I was also in line behind his wife at Marshalls (yes, I said Marshalls) a while back. I actually graduated a year ahead of him at SWMHS. Our Moms were friends too. :)

We saw Troy Aikman while waiting in line for Pirates of the Caribbean..He was out side of the line talking to the special tour CMs with the plaid vests...

She was eating at Donald's Breakfasauras with her daughter. We then saw her later in the playground area by the huge dino. Stopped and got her autograph..and pics....She was really nice.

I was on a cross country flight many years ago from LA to Boston with a stop in Detroit. My friend and I de-planed (same plane was going to Boston) to hang out. I went down the concourse to the men's room. As I was walking back to the gate, I heard one of the courtesy carts beeping. I step aside to let it pass and the first person I see is Brad Whitford of Aerosmith. As my eyes take in the whole cart, I realize the entire band is on the cart. I take off after the cart. After a few steps I realize that there is only one flight down there so I WILL BE ON THE SAME PLANE AS AEROSMITH!

It was totally awesome - got my picture taken with Steven Tyler (he's short) and all teh band's autographs. They were great and gracious. Once we boarded, the flight attendent told us in coach (they were in first class of course) - and there was only 20 people in coach of a 767 - that once we settled into the flight the band would be available to sign autographs. And sure enough we went up one at a time. It was kind of funny to see Tyler wearing reading glasses and reading Forbes and I think Joe Perry was reading Architectural Digest (or something like that).

Then we get to Boston. It was around 2AM. terminal is empty except for us on the flight and people waiting for people on my flight. Yet the band was escorted one at a time from a waiting room to waiting limos. Still an awesome experience.

About 25 years ago, I was with my family eating at the Crystal Palace. My Mom accidently started to walk into the men's restroom, only to have Ron Howard coming out! She pushed the door and he pulled on it from the inside.

My son and husband met Curt Schilling at MGM. He signed his autograph book and took a picture with him.

In 1997 we were sitting in the airport waiting for our flight to Orlando. A big guy and his wife sat down next to us in the waiting area. He asked me something and as I turned to answer him realized it was John Goodman. (He is from St. Louis) He had been in town to see his family and was on his way to Disney. He was going to be performing at House of Blues in DTD. He was doing the Blues Brothers act still at the time with Dan Akroyd. Really nice guy and just like everyone else. Fame had not gone to his head.:thumbsup2

Dennis and Randy Quaid went to my middle school, and the high school I'm going to after this year!!!!!!!!! :cool1:
Never met them or anything - but still, that's cool!

so cool about everyone's sightings!!! can't wait to hear more!
