Celebrities

We saw Michael Jackson (barely) walking down mainstreet last year. There were so many people crowding around him it wasn't funny. My husband and I were curious what everyone was looking at so I went to take a peek (I am 6 feet tall so can see over a lot of people). When I saw what all the fuss was about, I really felt bad for him, he could barely move there were so many people around him.

We saw Clint Eastwood in the corridor of our hotel (Beach Club) and Minnie Driver somewhere in Epcot...this was Feb. 1999.

:earseek: Of course, I looked like this...

my only other brush with fame was seeing Melanie Griffith - but that was at the D.C. zoo....I made a fool of myself - literally stalking the woman!! LOL

jimmytammy-

Robert Urich's wife was Heather Menzies.

I met Joely Fisher at WDW in 1996. She was Ellen's co-star at the time.

We met Raven from That's so Raven on Disney Channel a few months ago coming out of Mission Space. My DD missed her whom is a huge fan, because she was on the ride.

I have seen - Wayne Brady, Tom Cruise, Michael Anthony (Van Halen) and Enrique Iglesias.

Not too shabby.

Did anyone who saw a celeb approach them for an autograph? Were they nice or evil?

Raven had been approached, got her autograph and a picture. She was very nice!

One summer we were staying at the Wilderness Lodge at the same time as Scottie Pippen (formerly of the Chicago Bulls). My husband was in seventh heaven! He called everyone he knew and secretly videotaped Scottie paparazzi-style. He did not approach him, though, except to say "hi."

In August of 1988, I saw Markie Post (Night Court). She was checking in at the Grand Floridian, it had just opened... she had LOTS of luggage.

Somewhere around 1994 I saw Maurice Benard, Sonny on General Hospital. He was waiting in line right in front of me somewhere in EPCOT, just like the rest of us. :)

In 2001, I met Barry Bonds, and we talked pin trading. Funny thing is that I had to decline his invitation to join him and his family for dinner at LTT because I had to run and get a good seat for the parade... I didn't know who he was until he appeared as the grand marshal of the parade... but hey, I had a good seat.

I saw O-Town at Tower of Terror... they all scooted to the front to get pictures at an elevator.

December 2003, shook hands with Barry Bonds at Animal Kingdom's Breakfastsaurus. He sat at the table next to ours. This time I knew who he was. :)

I met the twins from Sister Sister in 1998 and their little brother who was on another show. They were all very nice and we posed for pictures.

Doug Flutie must be a regular.

We saw him last year on Mother's Day with his wife and kids. My family and his family were the only ones on the walkway between Main Street USA and Tomorrowland. He was heading towards Tomorrowland as we were leaving. He was pushing his son in a wheelchair, so we just said "Hi" as we continue to walk past.

We saw Doug Flutie,He was staying at the Caribean Beach Resort with his family and his brothers family. We said hello shook hannds, and then he was gone. His son is Autistic.

Here goes my list of celebs over the years(some of them are so not celebs but they did appear on TV or made records at one point)-

I am 27 now and some are from years ago.

The oldest boy Kevin from Mr. Belvidere probably 15 years ago-
Rudy(Keshia Knight Pulliman) from the Cosby show at the quiet Poly pool probably when i was 10-God's honest truth, we actually got in a fight and she kicked me.
The singing group "All 4 One" probably 10 years ago.
My sister has 2 pictures with Kelly Ripa from a couple years ago.
Tom Selleck at the Poly 10 years ago.
Rick Cerone of the NY Yankees and Rick Pitino when he coached Providence.

A few years ago I took my sister and neice and nephew along with me for a trip.. after dinner at Cape May at the BC my nephew decides he needs to use the bathroom AFTER we leave the restaurant.. like immediately after... LOL.. so.. I direct him to the bathroom in the hallway and we wait outside... he goes in and is IMMEDIATELY back out.. way too soon.. He looks like he saw a ghost.. so I ask what's the matter.. he is completely speachless.... and then a gentleman walks out behind him.... my nephew looks longingly after this stranger.. VERY well dressed stranger... I manage to get out of him that he just saw Don Mattingly at the urinal... a boys dream!!! well.. A NY boy's dream.. for those of you who don't know.. he was a NY ballplayer... My nephew was in shock.. we told him to go say Hi and get his autograph.. he just couldn't but really wanted to.... so I took him over.. and Mr. Mattingly was oh so gracious.. we didn't make a big deal of it.. so he wouldn't be swarmed... but my nephew remembers very little about that trip.. but he remembers the moment he shook Don Mattingly's Hand!!! I don't think he took a shower for the rest of the trip!!!

Over the years, we've seen lots of celebs at the hotels, especially during the 25th press party week- Arnold in the Gym of Beach Club, Maria in the gift shop. I forget who else, I'm just not impressed with stars that much, and rarely recognize them.

Walked down the hall once with Robby Benson at the Beach Club (didn't recognize him until he spoke, great voice!).

But the coolest was Dec. 2001. Our next door neighbor at the Boardwalk was Julie Andrews and her husband, Blake Edwards. Walked the halls with them, rode the elevators with them, and watched for a rocket launch from the Concierge balcony with Blake right next to me, and we discussed not seeing anything. Julie was to his left, in a house coat and wet hair and said nothing.

Watched them leave in the limo- very down to earth, very nice people!

My dad was in the bathroom with Dustin Hoffman once at Tony's at the Magic Kingdom. That was about 15 years ago. A few years after that, right after we joined OKW, my brother was at the main pool and I was in the gift shop...suddenly my brother came running in dripping wet (he was about 14 I think), saying Joe Pesci was at the pool snack bar. My brother recognized him at first by his voice, because apparently he was calling for his kids! I can't confirm this one though because by the time I got out there he was gone.
