Celebrities on board?

We were lucky enough to meet Donny Osmond on the Dream cruise Aug. 12-16th. We were able to take a photo with him and get his autograph. He really is a nice guy, he took the time to autograph and take photos with everyone that was at the signing, even when the DCL cast member was trying to rush the guest waiting to meet him. He was so sweet and when we came home and told my Mom we met him, she was so happy for us, she's been telling all our family and friends we cruised and met him on the Dream.

Very interesting reading this thread, as I've often wondered if celebs managed to go on cruises without incident. I'm usually not done in by seeing them (grew up in NYC and London and ran into just about everyone on the streets) but I saw someone on our Magic cruise just after Christmas last year and I was stopped dead in my tracks.

Sitting at one of the tables in Lumieres, right in the window, was an elderly, portly gent with a bright red shirt, suspenders, and flowing white hair and beard. His eyes twinkled. I was convinced it was Santa Claus!

Saw him throughout the cruise and he always wore red. He would stop to talk to children and chuckle merrily. I kept telling my husband that he was the REAL Santa Claus but of course he didn't believe me.....until he observed him over the course of a few days and was also convinced it was him.

It was, after all, after Christmas and he looked like he was taking a well-deserved break!

I'm pretty sure that I LOVE you guys!!!! :santa:

Since we live in L.A. and our son goes to a private school with quite a few "famous people''s kids, we really don't give a hoot about celebrities... Filming in your neighborhood is just a pain in the butt delay unless YOU are the one being paid for it!!
- But THAT celebrity, we'd LOVE to see!!!!

On the June 18 Med cruise, Peter Facinelli and Jennie Garth were on our cruise with their 4 kids. Peter plays vampire Carlisle Cullen in the Twilight movies. Jennie played Kelly Taylor on the original 90210 and was on Dancing with the Stars a while back. Their daugther (who turned 14 on the cruise) performed in the guest talent show on the last night. She played the guitar and sang a song she had composed herself. My friend and I were a little starstruck and took some stealth photos. We decided not to pester them for an autograph, although I did see another cruise guest having his picture taken with Peter.

We have seen him vactioning at WDW too. Once at the bus stop at POFQ.

We saw Santa in WDW a few years back in early December. I had my godkids with me, 4 and 5 at the time. We were near the bathroom near The Plaza restaurant. Of course they spotted him and ran right up to him! He talked with them it seems like forever. When I tried to get them to leave him alone he signaled no, and continuted their conversation. When the kids were finally talking with him they went to the restroom with their Mom and I walked up the the gentleman and apologized and said thank you. He said he gets it everyday and just considers it part of his job! Ummm...maybe it was the Real Santa!

We had Shawn Bradley -- former NBA player and his family on our cruise in July. DS13 got his picture taken with him.

Tom Coughlin the coach for the Giants was on the same cruise with his family.

I was on this one. He isso tall!

We too have seen Santa at WDW. the first time was at Teppenyaki ( sp) he was wearing rend shorts and a red t-shirt and suspenders and had snowy white hair and beard. My daughter pointed him out walking across the lobby and said " Mommy i think that is Santa Claus!" He gave a gentle Ho ho ho and ended up being seated right behind us! DD was so excited and then we saw him again at Fort Wilderness ( same trip) DD thought he was watching her!!! So cute!!:santa: What can you expect from the most magical place on earth!!

We were on this cruise too. My DH saw him in Nassau when he took my mom shopping. And DH couldn't help himself. He looked up and it just came out "Wow! How tall are you?" He said the minute he said it he thought to himself that it was a really stupid question. But Shawn answered "7'6". How tall are you?" DH replied "6 foot". The next response was "Wow, that's kinda short!" DH laughed. :rotfl2: He said he was super nice about it!

We've been on two cruises with Joey Fatone and he is a genuinely nice person. We ran into him several times -- on the stairs, by the pool, on deck and in the restaurants and he was always kind and never put out by people approaching him. He always had a big smile.

We sailed three times with Susan Egan as the entertainer and were lucky enough to run into her on CC with her husband and newborn and she was so much fun to talk with. We didn' want to impose and just made a passing hi and hope you enjoy your day and then she walked with us to the beach and we had a lovely conversation.

We have been on two cruises with Roy Disney and he was just amazing. Very shy in public and obviously not demonstrative, but he couldn't get a suite and was more than happy to be in a regular stateroom. We passed him and his wife many times during that week and he always nodded and said hello. A true gem.

We did the Panama Canal crossing in 2005 and Bob Saget, Kermit the Frog, Boys 2 Men and Joey Fatone were there. My daughter was 10 at the time really into NSync and he was very nice. Signed her CD, took pictures. I dont believe that any of them stayed for the full 2 weeks. There were no real autograph signings or anything. I think they dropped them off and picked them up at various ports.

Celebrities are the poor people who want a normal life and get put in the public eye every day. If you meet one, treat them like the guy next door or the guy you share a cab with. Afterall they are just like us. Just have to spend more of their money on insurance and whatnot :-)

Ive said it before but it is worth repeating. :lovestruc Love Joey Fatone.

The celebrities on our PC cruise were actually there as entertainers. Some perhaps brought their families as well.

Does DCL usually have a celebrity entertainer on board? I dont recall that on our previous cruise

one time on RCCL Susan Anton was the "Celebrity Cruiser" and at the end of the cruise we were standing in the line for customs...she passed by and and I commented on how she had not aged well...a few minutes later I turned around...she was standing right behind me...:lmao: Poor Lady I am sure she heard me I could have died!

I was on the Wonder and played bingo with Ricky Lake.

Side note, I rode Tower of Terror with Michael Jackson!

Joey Fatone and a bunch of sports figures.... Bah!

On OUR cruise, we had the Mouses: Mickey AND Minnie both! I have autographs and pictures to prove it. They are so sweet - great huggers - but, not very talkative.

:goodvibes
