I am not quite sure where to put this question. Since celebrities are an "attraction" I guess I will but it here!
Celebrities and there families visit the same Disney World that we do. I was curious if anyone has ever seen celebrities while at WDW? If so did you meet them, try to get an autograph?
We were there last year in July and saw Garth Brooks but my wife, who is a huge fan, would not let me go up to him. I found out later that we were in the restroom together, Had I known that earlier, I would have said something to him. I also found out from someone after we got back that Bruce Willis and Demi Moore were there with their kids as well. They stayed at the AKL.
Just wandering if anyone else has had celebrity experiences?

We were in AK 2 years ago, walking toward Dinosaur with a whole lot of people, kind of being "herded" along.

My wife and I looked up, and we were behind Terry Bradshaw in line!

In the summer of 2000, I was looking at the buildings and admiring some things in Africa of AK when my friend Jon said, “Hey, that guy looks like Sinbad”. I looked up and thought, “yep he does look like Sinbad”. He had his wife and kids with him. Then I looked a bit closer and saw two men in suits with wires in their ears and WDW nametags. Also, behind those two (who were walking with Sinbad), about 5 feet back were two more CMs (although these without suits) who appeared to be watching for maniacal fans. I then told Jon, “That is Sinbad.” After working at a Theme Park for 2 years, I know that anytime there is that much security, he/she is bound to really be whomever he/she looks like!

The next day, at MGM, there was a sign up regarding a special live comedy performance that day by Sinbad!

we saw Price Nassem, the boxer, while at Epcot in either Nov 1999 or May 2001 - cant remember which time!LOL He was with his family. we also queued for the TOT with a youngster who told us he was Steve in Barney. we did not know the show but the very next morning the kids turned on the TV at the villa and there he was!

We were just at the Rainforest Cafe at DTD and I could have sworn Kathy Bates was behind me in line. I was so surprised that I didn't say anything. My wife says it wasn't her.

I met the late Jim Henson at the Magic Kingdom in 1990...My brother and I had our picture taken with him, and he did the voice of Kermit The Frog for me.

On my most recent trip, I was dancing in 8TRAX with many people. One of them was a woman who looked like Mary Stuart Masterson...It probably wasn't her, being as she's treading the boards in "Nine" right now, but you never know.

Sincerely,

Celebs I have come in contact with while at work:
Bill Gates
Drew Carey (very nice... I made him laugh!)
Gloria Estafan
Manute Bole (Gigantic... he just barely fit into a doom-buggy by himself)
Bret Farve
Michael Jackson (very strange... must've said "oooooooooh, we're in the Haaaaunted Maaaaaansion!" about 30 times in 15 minutes)
Meredith Viera
US Sec'y of Energy (found out after I loaded him onto a Jungle Cruise boat the other day... 3 Secret Service agents)
"The voice of ABC"- I don't even remember his name... (about a month ago... no tour guides or security... he just walked through my turnstile. I wouldn't have known who he was except he used his ABC ID for admission and I asked what he did. I recognized his voice instantly- he even did a demo... "Allayah: Thursdays at 8 on ABC!" not really a celeb, but pretty cool.)

Last Summer I literally WALKED right into Cedric the Entertainer at the magic kingdom.

A few years ago we rented one of the surrey bicycles at the Boardwalk. We biked around Crescent Lake and as we got to the Beach Club there was a group of people blocking the path. Our kids were sitting in the front and rang the bell to let them know we were coming. Most of the group moved to one side but the gentleman, whose back was to us, was so engrossed in his resort map that he didn't move. The kids politely said "Excuse us" and he looked up, smiled and said (with a big smile ) "Hey guys...don't run me over!" He then laughed and moved to the side. Well...it was Steven Tyler from Aerosmith who was there with his family. (Of course DH, who is pop-culture-deficient, looked at me after we passed him and said "OMG...that was Mick Jagger!" LOL) I'm guessing it had to do something with Rock N Roller Coaster as this was about a year before it opened.

DH and DS dropped DD and I off at the hair wrap station and took another ride around the lake. When they passed ST again he stopped them and asked where he could rent one of the bikes. DH said he was really nice and very friendly.

We saw John Andretti and my DH talked to him for a while -we saw AJ Foyt (all during first IRL race) and we saw George Lucas in Tony's. My mom got his autograph in our Mickey album - funny!

This would only pertain to sports fans out there and Philadelphia Eagle fans in particular. One day I was walking through EPCOT and I came to Germany and standing outside along the miniature village, was Chuck Bednarik....one of the greatest Eagle's ever. I walked up to him to say hello and he was very nice and talkative. In five minutes, I got more information about how he felt about the Eagles organization now (that is, he doesn't like them), how he feels about minorities, and a few worldly thoughts that I didn't count on. He was quite opinionated and was a real 'hoot'. He was as genuine a man that I have ever met who speaks his mind....and doesn't care about what others think of him. My wife and I still get a chuckle when we think of our chat with him as it was truly memorable....I couldn't even begin to give it justice in this forum. Chuck is as strong willed and opinionated as anyone you'd ever want to meet....and as honest and genuine a person there is.

Hehe... tempting to take the richest man in the world out in a little boat into the middle of the jungle ;)

I walked by Drew Carey at ToT after he had held up the line to send up an elevator for just him......

The next week, I saw Michael Eisner near the Great Movie Ride....

I've seen Tom Brady (Pats QB), Lance Bass, and Joey Fatone when they were grand marshals of the MGM Parades....

I ate lunch beside the table when Jump 5 (a singing group of kids 14-17....as heard on Radio Disney) was doing their homework at the Mara at AKL

:bounce:

I have seen:
Jim Carey on New York Street in MGM
Rosie O'Donnell in AK
Regis Philbin
Kelly Ripa
Roy Disney
Michael Eisner
There have been more, I will have to add them as I remember them.

Here's some you would never know by sight:
Russi Taylor - the voice of Minnie Mouse and her husband
Wayne Allen who provides Mickey's distinctive voice.
Bill Farmer - voice of Goofy.
Bill Cummings - voice of Pooh, and oh so many others DarkWing Duck, Don Karnage, Herb Muddlefoot, Winnie the Pooh (the New Adventures of), Tigger (in a couple of the movies), Rasoul (the guard on Aladdin), Bonkers, Lucky Piquel, Louie (Tale Spin), Kaa (Jungle Cubs), Zummi Gummi, Chummi Gummi, Pete (Goof Troop), Fat Cat, Wart, Moroco Mole, Mr. Bumpy, Fuzzy Lumpkins, Long John Silver (the Pagemaster), Herb Miller (from the episode of Aaahh! Real Monsters called "The Switching Hour"), Red Eye (from an ep. of Dexter's Laboratory) Ed the hyena, Ivo Robotnik (the Saturday Morning Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon), an old dog thing from "Duck Tales", Smokey the Bear, the gopher on the Lion King (remember--“Zazu, sir, news from the underground.”), Nessus, several rather portly, deep-voiced, pushy Disney extras (ex. the pottery seller in Hercules and the guy who tried to chop Jasmine's hand off), and numerous other parts.

Can you tell I'm a Jim Cummings fan. These are the things I find fun as a solo adult.
Got their aurographs !!

In April of 2000, I was at Typhoon Lagoon in the snorkel with the sharks area. I had some family from Scotland with me and I was trying to show one of the little guys how to hold the snorkel.

Someone came up beside me and touched my arm and asked if I was in line--I turned, smiled and said no.....to Deidre Hall!

She had one of her small children with her and even though she had her sunglasses on, I saw her eyes when she lowered her head--plus the fact that I recognized her voice (a Days fan for years!).

A few minutes later, as she tried to show her child how to use the snorkel, I got up my nerve to approach her. I went up beside her and touched her on the arm and said "are you Deidre Hall?" - she turned and looked at me and just nodded, and I just replied, "thanks - have a nice day!". She then relaxed and gave me a big smile back, and that was it!

I think that she was relieved that I didn't make a big deal out of it , so as not to draw attention to her.

Later on that day, when I was walking towards another ride in the park, I saw a special section roped off and she and her family were enjoying their privacy.

It was very cool!

We saw Joe Piscopo at breakfast at "Cinderella's Royal Table". I can't remember if that was during our trip in Oct '01 or Sep '02.

Wonder if he was up early 60 days out to snag his PS.

We saw Suzanne Somers in FantasyLand on some kind of official business. Some people were asking for autographs and she was giving them for a few minutes.

We also saw Amy Grant and family there one time, just having fun. I think she said she was there to perform on the Children's Miracle Network, but squeezed in a family vacation, too.

I met Derek Lowe from the Red Sox and his family at Animal Kingdom on February 11, 2003. Being the HUGE Sox fan that I am, it was almost as exciting as when I got engaged at MK last November!! He was very nice and his wife took a picture of us together! It was WAY COOL!! WICKED AWESOME!!

When I was a CM in the parks I saw:

Robin Williams
Jim Henson
Michael Jackson
Morgan Brittany
James Doohan (Scotty from Star Trek)
Martin Mull (one of my favorites!)
Harry Anderson
Dan Marino
Mark Hamill
Michael Landon

Most were super nice but just wanted to be left alone to enjoy their vacation with their families.

We were in DAK a few years ago as guests and saw Jeff Gordon! DH (who is a huge NASCAR fan) was in the restroom and missed him walking by.
