Celebrations?

DH and I just came back from our first trip to DL and one little thing disappointed me. When we arrived at WDW for our 25th anniversary, we found a card with an autographed Mickey photo and balloons in our room. When I booked DLH and made priority seating reservations I was asked if anyone was celebrating anything, and I told them our trip was to celebrate my recent college graduation (only 30 years late). I picked up a "Just Graduated" button and got lots of congrats from CMs at the park, but nothing in the room or restaurants. I wasn't looking for much, maybe a similar card or some special decoration on my dessert. So why did they ask? Has anyone else gotten anything for their celebration?

I'm sorry that happened.

On our last trip my friend and her husband were celebrating their 15th wedding anniversary and they never had to ask for special desserts, their buttons said it all. They did have balloons and an autographed photo of Mickey and Minnie when they checked in but I had called in advance and told them it was their anniversary and they then asked which characters they liked and made a note on the reservation. I also called the Celebration planners and had a basket sent to their room, wow was it lovely they way they decorated the room with rose petals on the turned down bed, they made a two tiered cake out of washcloths and that was on the bed too. It really was special. I was celebrating my birthday and also got a signed picture of Minnie mouse and a button. With the button I also got special dessert. They really did a nice job at making us all feel special.

WDW is much better at the grand ways of surprising people, from what I've read.

They ask b/c it's the "what are you celebrating" year, and they have to. What happens after that is unknown...

First thing I would think if there was a card and balloons like that would be...did one of my friends order it for me???
