We will be going to wdw 5-6 to5-12 and will be staying at the celebration world resort. I would appreciate any info anyone may have on this resort.

Thanks for the help!

First time using chat room- not really sure how this works. Wanted to know of experience at Celebration world resort. I have gotten from reviews both great and horrible

First time using chat room-not sure of how this works, so please be patient. Wondering what kind of experience you had at celebration - have heard graet and horrible.

we were pretty happy.

I wanted a place where Spicey (my cat) could stay in the room with us and Celebration worked for us.

the rooms were clean - very clean - I checked....

the outside balcony was a different situation - but that area would be hard to clean. the outside tables and chairs were clean - but the floor could be improved.

we stayed in the pet approved rooms - so the floor was tile - not carpet.

the only room that was carpet was the bedroom.

the bathroom was clean, the livingroom was very clean - so was the kitchen.

they have a strange policy about the trash - you put it outside your room for them to pick up 7 am to 2 pm.

there were some problems with this - not Celebrations fault. Some guest did not put their trash out until after 3pm - so it didn't get picked up until the next day. Some people can't read!!!!

the swimming pool was fine, so was the hot tub. both in the room and in the pool area.

what were the complaints?

Problems with checking in, rooms not ready till late or overbooked and no room at all

Would you suggest ground floor or upper floor if there was an option? Are there any units with pool views? We will have A 2 yr old with us and it would be nice if we could view other family members from room if one of us had to go back. I do not even know if this is a possability since I do not know layout of the resort

that is no longer a problem - the manager got very embarssed when I brought that up.

check in early then go to the parks or shopping - don't buy groceries until you have a room.

come back at 4 pm and you should get one.

our first time we were staying at the Sheraton so we got there very early. No rooms - I did have a little problem when we came back at 2pm and still no rooms - when other people were getting rooms that just checked in....

anyway the manager tried to tell me I had to wait for the people who check in early - I told him I check in at 6:30 am - who checked in earlier than me???

that was the end - he immediately found us a room.

He wants the exchange people to wait until he has found condos for members and people who are doing the sales pitch. He doesn't plan very well.

this last time we arrived late - 11:00pm (had to work that day) - I called ahead and told them we would be arriving late - the room was waiting for us.

I got a shock that time - it was a skyauction bid - it was surpose to be a room with a kitchennett - not a full kitchen - but we got a full kitchen. I don't know how that happened.

I am doing an rci exchange, giving up maui and will be traveling with my brother, sister in law and 3 nieces under age of 8

I am sorry Maui and that is the best that RCI and give you....

is this a last minute trip or something.

HGVC is so much better (especially if you aren't bring a pet) - Hilton Grand Vacation CLub.

celebration is a nice resort - but they have limited activities and it is not a great resort in any terms. I love it - but more because of Spicey.

If you ever want to go to WDW again - I would definitely go post on the DVC rental/trade board. You might could get a DVC resort and be on property (WDW).

I have an exchange later this year for my brother in a 2-bedroom.

they have elevators - so the higher floors aren't really a problem - it is set up in the Spanish style - so the outside doors open to a courtyard.

I won't want a first floor here - the carts (look for them) to help you take your luggage to your room are very, very noisey - at 3 or 4 am they could easily wake someone up. So I would stay away from the first floor.

besides the patio has a screened in porch = on the first floor this thing has a back door - I am pretty sure your kids could open this thing and you certainly don't want them outside without your knowledge.

also make them understand not to pet any animal without the owners permission. most people who travel with their pets - make certain that their pets are nice to strangers (Spicey is pretty wonderful) - but sometimes these dogs (and also cats) are plain mean. I don't know why the owners would travel with a pet who doesn't like strangers - seem cruel to me....

the buildings are only 4 floors (might be 5 or 3) - so they aren't very tall.

the swimming pool is not near any of the condo's - it is over near the check in area.

there is a lake in the back of some of the condo - but we have always stayed in the side facing the road. If you close the slidding doors to the balcony you won't heard the noise.

I have pictues - I will try to find them tonight and on Monday either mail them to you or post them somewhere so you can see them.

It is next to a busy road early in the morning and at night - this is a short cut to WDW for WDW workers who live in Davenport.

It is too late for this time - but if you ever go back to WDW - I would definitely post on the DVC rental/trade board - and see if you can't get a trade.

yes there are daily activities - the site use to list them - but it has changed - I will see what I can find at home.

one more thing - you must have a rental car for this place.

there is no bus transportation.

Some friends of mine just got back from this resort and loved it. Their kids really liked the pool and the playground looked really nice on the home video.

Thanks for the info. Glad to hear of a recent update. They are also suppose to have activities for the kids which would be great. At their ages you need to have lots to keep them content.
tHANKS AGAIN!! BNB912

sorry I forgot this..

the activities are from 10:00am to 5 pm

Treasure Hunt, Put put billards, diving games, kids' Karaoke, Hairwraps, bingo & pizza party, moonwalk, make your own puppet, pool party, horseshoe games, puppet shoe by the kiids, ping pong, kids karaoke, scavenger hunt, ice cream floats, kickball, family movie night, dance lesson - everything else is just a repeat.

my daughter got a hair wrap when we stayed at celebration a couple years ago - they only charged a dollar & she was able to pick several strands of colour & some beads. I think they did just as good of a job as the disney hair wrappers do. Much cheaper price tho!
