Has anyone stayed at Celebration World Resort? Is it clean? Appropriate for a family? (You wouldn't believe what google turned up! ) Would you stay there again? I'm sorry if this question has been asked before but I can't search (isn't working).

Thank you for your input! :D

I stayed this past Labor day weekend on friday & sat nights book thru hotelkingdom.com (they no longer book celebration world resort tho) I only booked a 1 bedroom as it was just my daughter & I. Staff was nice during check in, unlike the discription listed on hotelkingdom's site, they were only going to put me in a "senior 1 bedroom unit" which was smaller & did not have the big screen tv (52 or 55 inch) I politely explained that that was not what I was expecting, the check in agent called hotel kingdom & after about 10 minutes or so, he found me the unit I was wanting. The unit was clean, had a nice sized galley kitchen, large dining table couch that 2-3 people could sit on together without feeling uncomfortable (this also had a pull out with a bed). Full cable tv with at least 80 channels or so. Fridge & freezer worked wonderfully. Kitchen had all utencils you would possibly need, all pans (they are NOT non stick pots & pans). Stove was the flat top kind. the 1 bedroom unit had 8 of each glasses, plates, bowls, flatware, etc. dishwasher in kitchen, over the range microwave, and it also was equipped with a blender & 4 slice toaster.

The master bedroom had a king size bed (not pillow top) & 19" tv stored in an armoire, with 2 extra drawers for storage. 2 bedside stands, 1 that held the safe. 1 person garden style jacuzzi tub was between the bedroom & could not be closed off from the room. the bathroom had a huge walk in shower (great water pressure), separate water closet, 2 side by side sinks that did not provide much counter space. there was a small hair dryer on a wall stand that I did not use as it was just the little sunbeam one normally found in hotels. there was plenty of storage under the counter tho. The towels were nice & fluffy and plentiful. the bathroom also had the closet (not a walk in) which stored the iron & ironing board. The large bathroom & kitchen was ceramic tiled. The rest of the unit had cheap looking flat hotel style carpet.

There were not alot of activites going on as they commented that they are still new & not many people there to participate. There was supposed to be a kids treasure hunt that saturday morning that they did not have due to non participation. My daughter was able to get a hair wrap that looked just like the ones you can get at the parks but they only charged $1 for it (I think they do hair wraps everyday for that price).

All in all I would definately stay here again but would get a 2 bedroom because I would not want to get stuck in the smaller 1 bedroom. They are easy to find, just a few hundred feet from Wyndham Palms Resort & CC. Both my daughter & I did comment that if we were given a choice to stay between the 2, the Wyndham Palms would win hands down. There is a Publix about 5-6 miles away that we visited twice in our 2 day stay, Saturday we ended up eating breakfast, lunch & dinner all in our unit & even fit in alittle bit of park time (universal closed at 8 that day so we just decided to leave an hour early & not spend the money at the park for dinner).

almost forgot, we went to the pool for several hours before heading to universal. It is a large pool with a 0 entry depth, free form resort style pool. The deepest is is about 5 & 1/2 feet but most of the pool was about 3 1/2 ft. there was alittle basketball area to be able to play pool basketball. all units are within walking distance to the pool. there were lots of lounge chairs & they kept the pool towels well stocked.

if you have anymore questions, please dont hesitate to ask here in a reply, please don't pm me tho cause I rarely remember to check pm's.

Thank you Melissa! I can't tell you how much I appreciate your detail! Especially about them trying to put you into a smaller room than you expected. I was afraid something like that would happen so I printed all of the info on the resort that was on the website from which I booked the room. Simple thanks don't properly express my gratitude for your review. :)

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

59 days & a wake-up to go!

we exchanged into Celebration World last year ......having won an auction on skyauction

seems like they try that "smaller" one bedroom on everyone.....now that i read this....

our exchange sheet from RCI said "full kitchen" but the one they tried to put us into was "partial" so we went back to complain....now i know the term....their "senior" one bedroom

they said it was RCI's fault.......but when i called RCI ....was told that the assignments came from celebration world....

as i was standing there trying to work this out with RCI on the line....another person who had a bonus vacation with RCI came in complaining of the same thing.....

needless to say, we would never exchange into this place again.....looks like they "bait and switch" everyone ....but from higher quality to lower quality

Oh boy. Just what a person doesn't want on vacation...a hassle!:( Thank you for your input. I will be fully prepared for their game.
