The earlier incident was a homicide. This latest incident was a suicide. They are both very sad but they aren't related. It's not like there's a crime spree or something.
But, it sure had the town upset this week. DD lives in Celebration, and there were police, firetrucks, emergency vehicles, helicopters and a SWAT team outside her condo Wednesday and Thursday. The residents weren't being told anything. While her street wasn't evacuated, officials set up camp there. She was afraid to take the dogs out. A news report earlier in the day showed a tank going down the street. Last night she kept texting me that she heard "booms" and wondered if it was tear gas and/or gunshots. The news report today indicate that tear gas was used and the gunman shot at the officials. Glad no one else was hurt.

I know... and this stuff always comes in droves, but still - it's not something one likes to hear from such a place.
And I know... it can happen anywhere. My [sleepy] town was halted by a triple murder on my parent's road earlier this year (two blocks away). Extremely quiet neighborhood, the owner had lived there well ovr 20 years... then all hell broke loose. Even though it was an isolated incident, as it appears Celebration's homicide is, it still rattles your cage!
