Celebration - Town

Just wondering if any body has ever visited the town of Celebration, just thought it might be worth a visit.

Yes we have visited several times and we enjoy it. It's almost like a film set - dh calls it 'The Truman Show', but it's definitely worth a visit. You'd probably need to eat there, or go to a movie to make it worthwhile. Take a stroll around the lake, look inside the Celebration hotel and browse the shops.

we visited Celebration by mistake when we got lost! It was a great place, really lovely, it was halloween time and all the houses were decorated.

I think we will take a trip there this year and catch a movie, it will be a nice relaxing day.

Celebration makes for a pleasant hour or two away from the parks. Its off of the 192 at mile marker 8, very close to Water Mania. Im sure there must be buses, check www.golynx.com for a route / timetable.

Dont try and walk it from the 192, as the proper town part is a few miles further down "Celebration Ave". It is very "Truman Show" or Pleasantville as my DH calls it, but nice none the less. There are rules about how tall grass is allowed to grow and weird stuff like that!! Unitl recently it was owned by Disney, and the workers at the Celebration Hotel were Disney Cast Members, same as at the parks. They have sold it on now, so not sure of any changes.

There are rocking chairs by the lake (where there is sometimes live music) and ducks to feed. Lots of little speciality shops and tea rooms. They do go to town on Holidays, like Halloween and Christmas, so this is a good time to visit.

We always make one short visit per trip!

we are getting married in celebration hotel in february!! I can't wait.

It's a lovely area, very peaceful and quiet, worth visiting!
