I've gone through and searched the older posts but haven't seen a RECENT review as in last week or so... Anyone been recently and want to share their experience?

Also I know there was a post w/ photos of all the food and characters but I can't find it either :( Anyone have pics to share or can link the previous post?

My DDs both voted today for "Woody's" over the "Princess" lunch, now I just have to convince DH of the price  We'll be going as 2 adults and 2 children... I'm guessing a little over $100... yowza.

I know last week it was dead. I think the BBQ is meant to seat almost 300 and it's been drawing in arond 50.
I read today that they lowered the kids price. Which was needed. But the bummer is they tag on tax and tip which makes it about 36 per adult and 18-20 per kid under 9. We skipped it, but you can see the whole show and the characters come out on the trail without stepping inside. So it ruined the exclusive aspect for me.

Is there any way to meet the characters w/ out eating? Have Woody or Jessie been spotted "roaming" around since April 2nd?

Hi momto2nenas, I posted like 3 weeks ago on the Celebration Round-up. My son and I had fun and I thought the food was good. The characters are inside the eating area(like after you pay, and wait to be seated) here are a few photo's if this helps.

Hope this helps:wizard:

Per MiceAge and I believe posters here, "kids" (3-9) are now $12.99 plus tax and service fee, but they don't get the goody bag...and again, per Al Lutz, if business doesn't pick up they may drop the dessert and lower the price for adults as well.

I hope your kids like chicken and ribs...I'm a lot older than them and I don't like to eat anything that still has bones in it (except steak ;) ).

I may have to give it a try if I get a chance...but then there is only me and my dd so it wouldn't be that expensive.

We were looking at doing this. Does anyone know how it compares to the Backyard Barbeque at WDW? Food looks similar from the pictures.

What's everyone who has gone, what's your opinion of why it's not more popular...I can think of three possible reasons, too expensive (or bad value), bad food or bad advertising (not enough people know about it).

Thanks for any insight you might share.

I have not eaten there but have watched a couple minutes of the show and looked the place over. the biggest problem is cost. You can feed a family of four at Coke Corner, TAste Pilot Grill and other restaurants for less. Other restaurants offer a variety of foods where as you either like barbecue or do not. The Character Meals are attractive as you get to meet popular characters and eat all you want except at Ariel's so why not blow the money on a very filling meal with a wide variety foods instead of barbecue.

They could use more advertising like ads on television locally and at their web page show more pictures of happy trail hands. I only want to go for the food and not the yeehaw atmosphere. How about Hannah Montana visits there and some publicity over there. Push the place.

I would lower the price, have the birthday stuff as an option and advertise more aggressively. I have yet to hear really bad reviews from this restaurant. Also it is a waste of time and money to make them fancy dessert in a waffle things. Why not fresh cupcakes and ice cream and fruit option.

The old restaurant had guests walk a line and order food but it is basically the same food right down to the cornbread which I remember because of them chewy corn bits people talked about. Same out doors seating but instead of Billy Hill to entertain you get skits.

I am hoping that it will still be available in Sept. Last month, when I called Disney Dining to ask about it's availability, I had been told that it will be offered, through out this year. And that it will be weather permitting based.
I love BBQ, however IMHO,the price does seem a tad bit high. Especially when the tax and tip is added to it. That just is not right. The tip should be based upon whether or not you care to pay it. And what with being food, there should be no tax at all.

I think it looks like a lot of fun! We are going for the first time ever in June, and i am looking forward to experiencing this- The cost might be bit high, but I think it will be worth the fun experience. And if there are not that many people there, then I think we will get more charachter interaction- which will just add to the whole experience! I can't wait!

I cannot justify paying $13 for my 3 yr DS. He would not eat that much food. If DL would have a free photo combined with the $13 kid's price...then I would think about it some more.

We are considering going here this weekend but we have not decided yet. I would love to try it but the cost is super high. If we don't do it this weekend we will do it on Mem. Day instead.

No more goody bags? Why? Can you buy them if you want? I was really excited for the kids to get those. :)

I was told that the goody bags are still available for an additional $10 if you want them. Which means the kid price with goody bag is $22.99 now instead of the $18.99 it was before, so that makes it even more expensive!

Grrr... that's irritating. I felt like the goody bags were a part of the fun! I'm sure we'll go ahead and buy them... but it felt better when they were included in the price!

:rotfl:
Lesson of the day: Careful what you ask for.

(Not meant towards ScooterL, but all those who thought it was too expensive.)

We are looking forward to this meal. Even with the cost, we figure it's vacation. I do agree though that it is very pricey for kids. Maybe Disney will rethink all the prices if people don't book it.

So what are the "official" prices right now. $28.99 per adult and $12.99 per child? Plus tax and 15% tip?
