Celebration Reports its First Homicide

very sad - I always enjoy taking a quick drive through celebration when I'm down at WDW..

It is sad. But in reading (and re-reading)the article I somehow get the feeling the writer is almost mocking the residents, who he feels might have been naive enough to believe Celebration would be w/o crime forever and ever.

But that's just my feeling:)

Anyway, will be interesting to see how the investigation pans out. Why this gentleman? A robbery gone wrong? Or something else..

Moved to Celebration from NJ six months ago and will never go back. The town of Celebration is the most family oriented town we have ever visited or lived in. There is always something going on in the town for families to do. It definitely is the talk of the town but after 14 years it had to happen sooner or later. If you saw the thousands of people in downtown Celebration last night for the hourly snowfall, ice skating, tons of snow that was trucked in for the kids to play on or the concert by HBO family band Savvy, you would never guess these things ever happened.

Thank you for posting the link.

:welcome: to the DIS!

Congratulations on your recent move. You sound very happy in your new home.

I agree it's a wonderful town. Things like this are bound to happen wherever you go.

Figured someone else would update this but they made an arrest.
Apparently it was a homeless man that the murdered Celebration resident would "pick up" on occasion for "company".
They found the vagabond's finger prints in the residence and later arrested him at his shanty where they found a coin collection and other items belonging to the murdered man.
He was unapologetic when arrested and said something to the affect that "The ******* deserved it". There was mention of an argument that broke out between the two over drinks. Specifically over the fact that a foreign substance was placed in a drink (roofy) so that the Celebration man could take advantage of him.
Disturbing stuff….
