has anyone ever been there?
we went there on our disney trip during the summer and its the cutest little town ever! the houses are beautiful and its just so inviting! i love it cause its like ten minutes from disney. and it is like a disney town! so has anyone ever been before? do you like it?

Awe! i would love to live there, but sadly never been there before. I bet its really expensive o_o I would love to hear more about it.

I find it kind of creepy and I have heard some weird things about that place.

celebration was owned by disney. made up for the lack of there being no "experiemental city" in epcot. :]

ive been there many times. i do find it creepy, but charming. everything is so immaculate, i mean, they have like..a requirement that your grass has to be some odd inches high.

I've been there. It's a cute little town, I agree that it is a little creepy. And everybody basically walks, rides a bike, or uses "Neighborhood Electric Vehicles" to get around. I just found some of the rules online.

The Declaration lists the rules by which residents must abide. These rules range from the predictable to the frightening. For example, it dictates the length of time that you can display, as well as the size of, political signs during an election period, and limits the number of signs to one. Yard sales are limited to one per year, and cars cannot be parked in an individual's driveway for more than 24 consecutive hours, but must be stowed in the garage, so that they cannot be seen from the street. If the Celebration Board, which again is made up of unelected officials, receives complaints from other homeowners about a resident's pet, they can remove the pet from the community without the owner's permission. The agreement bars more than two people from occupying a single bedroom.

Homeowners have to follow very specific guidelines about what kind of
plants and shrubs may be planted in their yards, each house has to be
built within a prescribed number of feet from the street and in one of
six carefully selected styles. Fences can o nly reach a certain height so
that yards are visible from the street. Any changes to be made to the
exterior of the houses must first be cleared with a committee.

Amongst these covenants are regulations on the colour of the curtains, the positioning of garden gnomes and birdbaths,

An actual document that lists every rule for citizens of Celebration is 166 pages long.

I don't know how celebration expects people to remember all of that. But here is a picture of that "Neighborhood Electric Vehicle."

I visited there with my family sveral years back. My parents were actually thinking about purchasing a house there, but they didn't. It does look great and I would so love there.

We always drive through there before going to WDW, its such a cute place.

Aww Celebration is so cute. xD They have some strange restrictions, but I still love it.

we visit there every year while we are at WDW. We usually go when we have spare time and we walk around and go in some of the stores. We also visited Stetson University one time, because it's right there, too expensive though. When I get famous I'm going to buy a house there.

Wow, all those rules are a little creepy. Im really going to have to go there now and check it out myself lol. How many houses are in the town anyways? I know its small, but does anyone have an estimate?
It really does sound like a Disney town though. Alot of restrictions, they really want it to be perfect. Sounds like a cool place to live though, it would be strange only seeing perfect houses all the time though.

we accidently drove through once. I was not a fan. It did kind of creep me out. You know like stepford wives or something. I don't know, im weird. I could NEVER stand to be in a place like that. I like when things are imperfect.

My grandpa had to go to the hospital once while in Disney so they took him to Celebration and it was amazing!!! we went in town and it was so adorable! I loved it! :goodvibes

Same thing with my grandpa but it was our last day and we left already so my aunt stayed with him. And she never took a picture of the room like I asked.

wow. i never read the rules before. that is just a little creepy, but i guess they have to keep up an image. i still think its adorable.

Actually it reminds me of the movie "Pleasantville." Like, before the kids came and messed it all up.

Nope, I actually have no desire to live in Florida. Its just a vacation destination for me.

That little town scares me. Everything is just too perfect.

I've never driven through Celebration, but I've heard a lot about it. They do have some pretty extreme rules, but there's a lot of subdivisions in and around the Orlando area that have some kind of rules, no where near as bad as Celebration's rules though. In the subdivision I live in, the Homeowner's Association has control over how your yard looks, your grass has to be neat, you can't put too many decorations out during the holidays, you have to contact them if you're going to paint your house. You get charged if you don't follow the rules.
