Will be staying at the Celebration Hotel first week of December. Never been to downtown Celebration before. Any recommendations on restaurants to visit, shops, or any other happenings going on?

Hi, here is their website www.celebrationfl.com It is a wonderful place to visit. They have the snow downtown but not sure when it starts. They're are alot of wonderful shops and restuarants. One of my very favorites....Columbia. Have fun!

Celebration Hotel will have lots of info for you about what will be going on that week.
But here goes.....drive around the Town at night to see the homes and how they are decorated, many have professionals come in just to decorate and they are really beautiful. Several do the Disney theme. :thumbsup2

Snow falling nightly (I believe) on Market Street. It's kind of corny, especially if you are from the North, but the children seem to enjoy it.

Another poster mentioned Columbia, our favorite also. There are several places to eat in Celebration and the Hotel has a very good restaurant.

On December 2nd and 3rd there will be "Art in the Park" at Water Tower, just a few minutes from the Hotel.

Have fun and enjoy.

If you like all things New England, I would recommend the Celebration Town Tavern for a dinner. It is operated by the same folks who own Kelley's Landing in Weymouth, Mass. The menu can be viewed on-line (google the rest.). It is heavy on seafood and much of it is flown in daily from Beantown. Speaking of Beantown, they even have Boston baked beans on the menu.

Have a great trip and visit the Celebration Town Tavern. :cool1:

If you want to try Spanish Cuban cuisine, one of our favorite stops is Columbia. They have a great salad called the 1905 We'll stop there just for the salad and some warm, crusty Cuban bread for lunch. The food is pretty good in the hotel as well. Barney's is a great place to get your caffeine fix. Enjoy your stay. pirate:

If you like Italian food, D'Antonio's is wonderful. I also agree that Town Tavern is good.

The Celebration Hotel has piano bar every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night in the lobby which is nice.

Sherlock's which is just steps outside the hotel entrance often has live music on Friday and Saturday nights.

There is an AMC cinema in the center of town on Front Street. Kilwin's ice cream and chocolate shop right next door to the cinema.

Barney's closed and is in the process of being converted to Starbuck's.

We love to take a walk around the lake, both in the day time and at night. Also, walk further on the boardwalks into the other villages of Celebration.

The nightly snow fall starts around Thanksgiving and occurs every evening on Market Street on the hour between 6 and 9 pm and is very charming.

I believe you can rent bicycles and even a surrey bike from the Wheelz (NEV) shop which is on Front Street only a minute or two walk from the hotel. Then you could bicycle around the entire town and all the villages.

PJ's Cafe at Water Tower Place (at the 192 entrance to Celebration) is very nice, as is Mulligan's Pub.
