Celebration button ideas

We're coming up on our fifth trip in August and have never worn the celebration buttons--just never seemed to be a "real" reason to do so! I thought it was for people who were celebrating an actual birthday or anniversary while there, on their honeymoon, etc. But then I'm seeing all kinds of stories to go along with the buttons.

Now even though we're going in August and my actual birthday is in September, it's a big one! So even though it's a little early, I'm thinking of getting a birthday button for the big 5-0. Should I feel funny that it's a whole month ahead of time????

Then my oldest son will be starting High School just a week after we get back, so I thought that could be his button. "Celebrating Going to High School"

Problem is that leaves my DS (who will be 12 at the time). I need some ideas so he doesn't feel left out. I know my DH wouldn't want to wear one anyway, but I also know my youngest will want to! So how about some ideas for him??? "Celebrating my 5th Trip"? "Celebrating A Great Summer"? What else????

DH and I had anniversary buttons last year, and DS (13) got an I’m Celebrating blank button so he did not feel left out. While we were in a store, a CM noticed his button didn’t have anything specific he was celebrating, so gave him a silver sharpie and asked him to add what he was celebrating. DS took a minute to think, then wrote, “everything”. We all laughed, and he wound up proudly wearing that button the rest of the trip.

Most will say don't worry, Disney will say don't worry, I feel like I would feel like I was fibbing every time someone said congrat.

Now to get around in my head put

The big 5-0
In 1 month (In small print)

Lol afterall if that is the main reason your traveling...

Also put clear nail polish or clear tape over where you write or it will rub off on you.... Not so good!

I should add that we typically go in July and are there for our anniversary. This time we are traveling with family, and will be there 2 weeks before. We are still getting the anniversary buttons because we are still celebrating! We typically get CMs that say happy anniversary and that is all- last year even on our actual anniversary-we did not get anything special by wearing them. (One restaurant the whole week we got an anniversary cupcake.) Bottom line- if you are celebrating on the trip and want the button to commemorate that, get the button. Don't expect anything special and enjoy the trip.
