Just booked our next Disney Trip last week!! :cool1:
We will arrive on 11-23 (Thanksgiving morning) at 9 AM and stay for 10 Wonderful days at ASMo. We will depart 12-3 at 10 AM. Though it is a looooooooong way away, we are still extremely excited and have been going over all the maps of the parks and figuring out all the princess and character meals we need to get resies for. We are already going to get one for LTT for Thanksgiving when we are 180 days out. As for now, we'll just keep drooling over all the pics of the day posts. Not that I want to wish summer away, but it is Disney after all!! :earsboy:

I am sooo excited for you. We just booked our Thanksgiving 06' trip a few weeks ago and now I can't wait either.. :flower2:

Congrats!!! :cool1: Where are you staying? Do you have a particular restuaraunt in mind for Thanksgiving dinner? This is our first Thanksgiving in WDW and we have heard LTT in MK is a great feast but are open to any other ideas. Have a great trip!!!

Yipeee!!! We're going on the same exact dates. We will be staying at Pop Century for the first 5 days and WL for the remainder of the trip. I know it's a long way off, but it is soooo exciting! It was too sad when we returned from our trip in October, so the only cure for us was to plan another trip!

Hurry up Turkey Day!

I got the opportunity to rent DVC points from a friend who is having a baby next month. She will not be using all her points this year and I was more than happy to accept. Right now I will be arriving 11/18 and departing 11/25. Her home resort is SSR. If possible, I may change to one of the Epcot resorts or OKW. I am very excited to be staying in a DVC property for a very resonable cost. We are renting a studio and plan to do the meal plan since it is now available for DVC rentals. I hear the parks are beautiful this time of year and I still have ten months to get psyched for the crowds.

Guess I should finish my trip report from 2005 huh?
We stayed at POR last year and had an absolute blast.
My normally reserved husband wanted to know when we were going back?!??!

SO this time Gramy and Grampy are staying with us....AND we have yet to nail down our accomodations. Gramy wants to stay at Dolphin....I want to rent a villa (thought the extra space would prevent fights haha!)

Regardless of our choice, Im sure we will have a great time, and I cant wait for Gram & Gramps to see the kids down at Disney!!! :cool1: :Pinkbounc

Oh one more thing...Thanksgiving 2005

We had our Thanksgiving meal at Mickey's BBQ at FortWilderness.
They call it "Thanksgiving at the Fort" and it is a hard ticketed event.

The food was plentiful - served in these HUMONGEOUS aluminum heated containers....and served buffet style. The one complaint I had - the turkey was more like 'coldcut' quality...than 'real' high quality turkey. The rest of the food was very good...mash potatoes, sweet potatoes, veggies, cranberry sauce, cornbread, pumpkin pie, pecan pie and more etc., ...but I just couldnt get over the turkey issue...because I really love Turkey for thanksgiving.

ALSO - they have a LIVE country band that dances around with Mickey chip, minnie, and goofy. It was LOUD LOUD LOUD. We couldnt even hear one another speak. For this reason I probably wouldnt do this event again.

We'll be at POR (our first time there - very excited!) Nov 17 - 24 (assuming my DH's contract doesn't change. Keep your fingers crossed......)

And we just found out that my MIL will join the five of us! When we asked her if she'd like to come along, we assumed she'd hem and haw a little to consider. But she didn't even take a breath before she shouted "Yes!" She was widowed a few years ago and (we didn't know it) she has been dying to go back to WDW but didn't want to go alone!

We'll be there too!!! We're taking the plunge and staying at WL. This is our second trip to WDW but the first time onsite. DH thinks that this trip will get it out of my system if we do it up right... :rolleyes1

Thanks for the tip Mikkiwikki regarding Micky's BBQ. We won't be going there! DH is still having a hard time not being home for Thanksgiving, not that we do anything or have anyone over. :confused3

Who else is going?!?

LTT was one to the restaurants we went to around Thanksgiving break. Although we didnt dine on 'THE Turkey day' - I can say the food was quite good. Unfortunately for us we didnt enjoy very much because DD was intent on having a temper tantrum (missed a nap) so totally not the restaurants fault. The staff was very nice and even helped my dd get over herself. :rolleyes2

44sun - you will LOVE the WL. That's where we stayed for our first trip. It is very beautiful and restful, and the location can't be beat. You'll have a wonderful time. Don't tell your DH, but I doubt it will "get it out of your system"! We had intended that our first family trip in 2002 ("doing it up right" at the WL and AKL) would be our one and only family trip but as soon as we left we were all scheming how to get back! This Thanksgiving at POR will be our second (hopefully of many) family trips. Have fun planning!

bump :wave2:

Whos still going? Where are you staying?
In case anyone cares...my family decided to stay offsite in a villa - due to the size of our party...but we are going to be running around the parks for 11 glorious days!!!! I can't wait!!!!!!!

   :yay:  :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :grouphug:

Do the happy dance with us

How great! We booked a Thanksgiving kinda last minute too! We will also be arriving at WDW on Thanksgiving day in the early afternoon. We have our Thanksgiving dinner booked at Fort Wilderness. We didn't have many choices left by the time we called for reservations, but we think we'll have a lot of fun there! :goodvibes
