Day 1 Plans!! Yay!!

Here are our tentative plans. . .I’ve planned and re-planned and re-planned!

Brian and I both have to work on May 30th. I’ll get off work about 3 p.m., and I’ll be out for summer! (Can you hear Alice Cooper singing “Schooooool’s Out For Summmmmmer!!” in your head?)

I will leave work and go to my mom’s to pick up her car (we’re driving it to WDW and she’s keeping my car that week). I’ll pick up the car and D (he stays with her while I’m at work), and we’ll head home. I’m hoping Brian will get home about 5 or so. We’ll pack up the car, get something for dinner, and then I’ll do all of that last minute stuff (for some reason, I feel like I have to clean everything before we leave, so it’s clean when we get home!).

We are hoping to get D to bed early, but in reality, we’ll all probably go to bed around 9 p.m. I will get up about midnight, get ready, and then get Brian back up. We’ll load D up and get on the road about 1 or 1:30 a.m. Brian likes to drive at night, and I sleep, so this works out well for everyone!

*This is D loaded up for our first trip! No diapers or any of that on this trip, and a LOT more room since we’re in Mom’s car!

If it is like our previous trips, we’ll stop for breakfast in south Georgia—Chick-Fil-A, baby!!

Around 10:30 or 11 a.m., we should be seeing this:

(For some reason, we always go in this way, so this is my “Welcome to Walt Disney World”!)

We will go straight to VWL to check in! Yay!! Hopefully, the room will be ready. I don’t have any room requests, other than “please stick me somewhere so D can nap”!

We are planning to grab some lunch at Roaring Forks, unpack, and then nap! After nap, I’ll get ready again, grab our overnight bag and toiletry bag, and then it’s off to:

We will check in to Royal Pacific Resort and drop off our bags and stuff! We are planning to walk around and take some pictures of the resort. Then, we’ll head to Universal City Walk for dinner at Margaritaville. We LOVE Jimmy Buffett!!

We went to Margaritaville in Nashville last fall, and we all loved it.

D even got into it, playing the drums on the stage!

After dinner, we’re planning to walk around some more, maybe swim at the resort, and probably turn in early, since Brian will be tired from driving and we have an EARLY date with Harry the next day!

The kids are wanting to resort hop this time.. NO POOLS they want to see the resorts..as we have never done that!

Hello! Love your PTR so far The pic of your husband and son is sooo adorable. I have never stayed at WL, but resort hopped there one day. I have stayed at the RPR at Universal in 2005 I believe. It was very nice Went to Harry Potter two years ago when it first opened, what a mad house. I'd like to go back sometime to actually get to enjoy that part of the park. It was super hot and we had to line up basically at the park entrance to wind around and wait to be let into the Harry Potter land. Then we had to wait about an hour to get into the CS there, and eat hot food outside in the steamy heat. It was pure craziness just going through a gift shop, after waiting in line. Forget riding the ride, I was about to pass out It will probably be so much more magical now to take in and can't wait to read about your experience there.
Love the sign of the entrance. . .once you enter don't your cares just melt away and you feel so young and light again?!
Can't wait to follow along on your journey!!!

I completely understand your desire to have a clean house to come home to after a long trip. I'm exactly the same way!

I love the picture in the car of those little sweet, chubby baby feet. Aren't baby's feet the cutest?

I have seen pics of that opening, and it looks CRAZY!! I am so glad to hear that you liked RPR! And you are so right. . .my cares just melt away and I am a complete kid again! I am loving reading your PTR--glad to have you along for this one!

He did have the chubbiest little feet! It was kind of sad when they went away! Yep, the house has to be clean, because when we come home with all of the laundry, it's something that relaxes me. Glad that someone else does that, too!

Whoo hoo, my some of my pre-trip Disney purchases are finally on their way. I got some shirts--so I knew they'd be in my size--for the trip, and some are theme park exclusives, so I know I won't feel bad if I don't get any clothing while I'm there.
I'll be doing some more pre-trip shopping on Monday Then I got to wait at least a week before starting to pack them. . . you know make the time still left go by a little faster.

Whoo hoo, my some of my pre-trip Disney purchases are finally on their way. I got some shirts--so I knew they'd be in my size--for the trip, and some are theme park exclusives, so I know I won't feel bad if I don't get any clothing while I'm there.
I'll be doing some more pre-trip shopping on Monday Then I got to wait at least a week before starting to pack them. . . you know make the time still left go by a little faster.

Ooh, post pics! I love the packing process. . .though I usually can't get Brian to pack until the weekend before. That doesn't stop me from making 44 packing lists, though!

You're not alone in shopping before a trip or with needing to have everything cleaned before you go! I do this too and I'm sure many others do as well. I'm sure it will be nice to have a bigger car this time around because that was one stuffed car! I can't wait to see what your plans are going to be for day two.

Ok. . .on to Day 2 plans!

Good morning, Universal! We have Early Entry to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, so we will be up and about SUPER early! Park opening is at 9 a.m., so Early Entry is at 8 a.m. We are planning to leave the room about 7:10 or so, store our stuff at the front desk (since we’ll be checking out) and take the walk over to Islands of Adventure. I have read that we should be there about 7:30, because we may get in about 7:40-7:45!

I have to be honest, the Universal day is freaking me out a little bit. I am SO excited to go, but I feel unplanned. I know where everything is at WDW, the best plan of action, etc. I guess I feel like I just don’t have a good enough plan for this day!

We will start with Forbidden Journey, for sure, to avoid the crowds later on. Brian will ride it, but I know my motion-sickness will keep me off of that one. D and I are just going to walk around, and then when Brian is done, I’m hoping all three of us will take the castle tour.

After that, I want to ride Flight of the Hippogriff (we’ll all do that) and Brian wants to ride Dueling Dragons.

I am hoping we can get those done fairly quickly. I know we’ll do some shopping in that area and probably grab a snack.

Then, as more people start coming in, we’ll head to the other areas of Islands of Adventure. I want to see Seuss Island (or Dr. Seuss World, as I’ve been calling it) and Brian wants to see Marvel Island. There’s a water ride too that I read about (Something Falls. . .can’t remember the name). I think D would enjoy that, but I’ll let him decide!

Harry Potter is really our only mission on this day—everything else is icing on the cake. I’d like for D to get to meet some Seuss characters, so we’ll probably check that out!

After we are done with Islands of Adventure, we’ll walk back to RPR, get our car, and head back “home” to VWL!

I don’t know if D will take a nap at IOA or when we get back to VWL. . .it’ll depend on the time!

After we relax a bit at VWL, I think we’ll head to Downtown Disney. I like to walk around and look in the stores!

It’ll definitely be an early evening, I would bet. I’m figuring we’ll all be sleepy! So, when we’re done, we’ll head back and call it a night!

Seuss Island is great fun too--we do stop there if not just to get a shirt for Cinderella for Dr. Seuss Day at school I also have a Thing 1 night gown/shirt.
I really got to fit in DTD this trip--I need to get myself to the D-Street!! I def have to get my vinylmation for this trip.

Trying to get some updates up before Spring Break ends and my updating time slows down!

Oh, I love food! I really do! And I really, really love Disney food! There have been many times that I motivate myself through walking on the treadmill by planning what I’m going to pick off of the menus!

We are on the regular dining plan (the 1 QS, 1 TS, 1 Snack) meal plan. This one has always worked well for us, because we just don’t stop long enough to do 3 table service meals a day. I always think I’d love to do the DxDP, though, and maybe we will one day!

For day 2, I’m thinking we will grab breakfast from the Orchid Court Lounge (I think that’s the name) at RPR. They have pastries, muffins, etc, and most importantly, COFFEE. Coffee is the elixir of life for me!

For lunch, we are hoping to hit Three Broomsticks about 11 a.m., before the lines get too long. I can’t wait to check out all of the little details about the restaurant!

Dinner will depend on how tired everyone is. We’ll either grab something at the resort, or if we make it to DTD (which I’m hoping we do), we’ll go to Wolfgang Puck Express or Earl of Sandwich. I LOVE WPE—the BBQ Chicken Pizza is SO good! I will definitely lobby for that one!

So, that’s it for our food for that day!

Next up: Brian’s birthday. . .does he get gifts with a Disney purpose?
