We are celebrating our 25th anniversary on May 23 in WDW. We are DVC owners and have been to WDW more than 10 times. I want to make this trip special and thought I could get the bride and groom ears and make the ears silver and paint "25 Years" on them. Then we could wear them that week while we celebrate.

If you saw this, would you think it odd or strange. Are the wedding ears only for when you're celebrating a honeymoon?

I also thought about using ears from an old hat, and making ball caps (his black, mine white) with "25th anniversary" painted on them somewhere.

Just want your thoughts.

Actually I'd be kind of proud to do it if it were my 25th....

We're on our way to our 25th( 15 and still happy ) I would definitely do it.

Go on ....... show off a little bit!!!!

Congratulations!!!!!!
Go for the ears. You will have a blast. And think of the great pictures you'll get. Anyways, who said all newlyweds are young.

Some couples were getting rehitched at WDW a while back. I think this was in the Land at Epcot, but I am not sure.

I say go for the Ears too!! HOW CUTE!! Happy 25th!

I've heard about the rehitching ceremony, but I don't my shy, sweet DH would go for it. I couldn't believe he agreed to wear the hats.

Thanks for the congrats. I do think it's something to be proud of. We never really had a honeymoon, so I wanted to make this trip "honeymoonish", if you know what I mean.

Ditto...and I think the renewing of vows was at the Garden Grill there in the Land. I was thinking of doing this on our 10th Anniversary Trip but sadly, the Garden Grill was closed.

Let me add my congrats! 25 is no small accomplishment. (This year will be our 23rd.) WEAR THEM......what a great encouragement and positive message to all the newlyweds.
I just realized we don't have a "wedding" smilie............

If I saw it at a funeral, maybe. :jester: It'll take more than that to "stick out" at WDW. If anything, you'll get better service and possibly free desserts at some restaurants. :earboy2:

Definitely go for it!

We are celebrating our 20th this year, and I wish my husband would agree to this! I am sooo the type to do this, and he is sooo not the type. Oh well.

Congrats and have a great time!

kaceyisme, I thought my husband was not the type, but when I asked he said, "Sure!" I was totally surprised. He said he'd rather wear a ballcap than the top hat, so that's why I'm trying to make those.

Another idea if you go with the ears is to get the personalized. My DW and I had that done for our Honeymoon this past October. I called up Days of Christmas in DTD a couple weeks and they did it for very little money. I don't recall exact but the ears and the personalization was not more then 30 or 40 bucks. We had our names on one ear and our wedding date on the other. They did an amazing job. My DW was asked by a little girl if she was a princess!
When we got to where we were staying (OKW) we just went to the gift shop there and picked them up. We wore them almost everyday while there (one day it rained so we left that in the room).
Now we have the ears in our living room on a shelf with pics and other things from that week.
Conrgats on your 25th!

I've seen plenty of couple wearing those ears on anniversary trips. I think it's a great idea to wear them for any anniversary, not just the milestones like 25.

Matt's idea of having the ears customized is terrific; that way everybody will know that you are not only celebrating a special occasion, but that you have reached a significant and impressive milestone. Bravo!

My husband actually made bride and groom ear ballcaps for our honeymoon. It's really simple to do. We got caps from David's and some foam for the ears. Throw in a hot glue gun and you're all set :)

Have fun!

I think making them is the way I'm leaning. Another Diser we met, while they were on their honeymoon, had different ears almost everyday. The husband made them, and they were so cute and didn't look homemade at all. I definately think they need to show our anniversay because it's a big deal!

We celebrated our 25th in WDW and this year we'll be there for our 30th! I love the idea of the Mickey ears, but there is no way on earth my DH would wear them. He won't even wear a pin lanyard! However, if he would, then I'd write 25th anniversary on them - I think it will look great!
BTW...be sure to mention your celebration to the resort at check in. I did that for our 25th and they sent up an ice bucket w/champagne and two glasses! Nice touch. We also got a free dessert at one of the restaurants.

ncbyrne: Tell your husband that there is the off chance you might get some free stuff or some special magic. :cool1:
My DW and I recieved a free desert at the steakhouse in Canada (Le Cellar), very good seats for several shows (Indiana, Tarzan), a pair of FastPass for Space Mt. that another couple couldn't use as well as more "Congrats" then I can count.
We went knowing not to expect anything besides the "Congrats" so all the special attention from the CM's was amazing.

Congrats on your 25th! (we're at 28 this year). Wear them! But be prepared for people to ask you when you were married and think you are newlyweds. Imagine theirs faces when you say 25 yrs ago! It should be a lot of fun!

CONGRATULATIONS Again!

Glad to hear others are doing this! we will be celebrating our 20th when we go and we plan on doing the same thing, I was just going to take a gold or silver pen with us write the anniversary on them myself, I like your idea of the ball caps with mouse ears glued to them! we also had no honeymoon when we got married and we are excited to stay our first time on site! Congrats !!! :cool1:

Congrats on your 25 years!

I think the hat idea is sweet. If you make your own how are you going to do it? Will you buy plain hats or disney hats? Do you go to the craft store, buy the foam ears and then spraypaint them black? Just wondering. I wonder if you get caught in the rain if the ears will fall off being only hotglued on? Let us know what you plan as I would like to plan that as well in the future. Have a wonderful trip. Happy Anniversary!
