Hi everyone! We are going to Disney World in April,:cool1: Ya Hoo! We are meeting family members there and we are staying at the same resort. The first night we want to be a great night. It will be all our first time there there will be 9 of us. We will be celebrating my 38th, :scared: My cousins 40th :scared1: and there son's 5th birthday :yay: all on the same day. Any suggestions on how to do a little celebration? What restaurant would you suggest that would be fun for all of us? Can I order a cake and how? Any input would be great. Thanks for helping. :flower3:

I'd suggest O'Hana or Biergarten. They would both appeal to the age ranges in your group. They are both fun restaurants with built in entertainment. O'Hana does a better job of recognizing celebrations. O'Hana does entertainment specifically for kids - Hula dancing, coconut races. The 5y.o. guy would LOVE it!
We had a WONDERFUL time at Biergarten! LOVED the Oompa band enough to stay for 2 shows and danced on the dance floor the entire second show.

Both have really good food.

When making your ADR ask them to note that you are celebrating bdays. Give them each name and celebration. They will likely bring each a bday cupcake. You may also order a cake in advance. Here's a link to all the info you could ever need about it.
Don't forget if you are the Basic DDP you will have dessert included in that.

Disney is also doing special celebration add ons for 2009; here's that link.

Here is the link to the Birthday/Anniversary Cake thread. Very good information can be found there. A lot of pictures of cakes others have ordered and a list of how to order them. I hear the GF has the best cakes so maybe CRT or some restaurant at the GF. On the thread you will see cakes from those locations and they all are very nicely done! My family will be celebrating in January and we are going to CRT and ordering the slipper dessert which should be really good! Good luck with your search and have a very magical first trip! You will love it!!

Happy Holidays!! :santa:

I agree with the PP suggestions.
I loved 'OHana. We had a great table near the window and as a plus we were able to watch both Wishes and the Electrical Water Pageant. It is an all you care to eat restaurant and we thought the food was very good - not great but good.
We will be going to the Biergarten this year. I haven't been in years, but it sounds fun from reviews here on the DIS.
We love the WS restaurants and Teppan Edo is one of our favorites, that won't work for you however, since the tables are for 8. Actually you may want to check on that at the Biergarten too, I think their tables are for 8 too.
We enjoyed Kona Cafe at the Poly as well. It certainly is more sedate than the others mentioned, but a good meal.
Whichever you choose, have a Great Trip.
