Celebrating Easter 2011 on the Magic

We have assigned cabins that are not changing - I prefer to PM that info. I also think last time we all corresponded via email with the final FE list and cabin #s etc. Just a thought to send email address too. Do we want to plan to set a time for quick meet & greet once on the ship? Nice for kids to meet other that may be in kids club with them and fun to place name with face.

Who is the person that is heading the FE? I will send my email to them and they can cc everyone with the info. We can try to do a meet and greet. With getting on the ship and getting situated in the room, muster drill, we missed it on our last cruise.

The boat has only recently started to fill up...I had been checking it periodically and I know at least a month ago, every catagory was available but recently only verandah was. I have been on a sold out boat before and it was ok but I was hoping that it wouldn't be.

Now I look and every catagory is available. I was hoping for some pixie dust but our room is still the same.

Also I bought something I thought would work for a Fish Extender as my friend has one that was similar, but it came today and it's smaller then hers was. I am not good with metric measurements. LOL Is anyone planning to give any big items? This has 5 pockets that are 7" wide and 5" deep, like this....

Ours is about the same size. I wouldn't worry about it being too small.

I want to ensure that we are added to the headcount. Do I need to do something other than express interest in this forum?

Also, we just booked late last month, on a whim. When we first called, May 7 and April 23rd were sold out. Moments later, the top three classes were available.. I think there is a lag with system updates.

I just booked this cruise last week with a FL resident rate...this will be my third cruise and I thought I'd visit the forums for some inside info...can anyone tell me if DCL does anything special for the Easter Holiday Cruises?

p.s. What is a fish extender?

Welcome to the group! And glad you want to join FE - it is fun for the kids. Easter - I know they are having an easter service with priest and minister and believe the big bunny does make apperance too. I think I also heard there is a special easter breakfast but not sure how that works. Anyone else heard anything?

Griffith was kind enough to help me with these same items. The FE is a pouch that is hung from the mail fish outside each cabin door. Individuals use them to exchange goodies ;)

I'll organize the fish extenders. Sorry I haven't been on in a few days been busy with kids and work. I will put together the list this weekend. Pm me email addresses and room numbers. I hope to have it together by Sunday and will send everyone a list. Glad our little group is growing!!
Our last cruise was sold out and I did not notice crowds anywhere on the ship.

Hi Grlzmom-
Wow, you have a great family - beat our record! We have 3 girls DD10, DD8, DD6 and DS4! It will be fun to have our girls meet up since your younger 2 DDs will be with my oldest 2 girls.

Hopefully we can plan a meet & greet the afternoon we board the ship.

Debbie

Would love for the girls to meet! We also have a dd21 whose spring break doesn't coincide with this trip :(

So excited, not much time now.

Curious if you have all done the online check in yet? There is a thread going about a change in the way DCL assigns boarding group numbers - but seems no official word on how it "really" works. Used to be first at terminal received early boarding numbers (excl. platinum, concierge, etc. which board first) so we plan to arrive early. Anyways, I just did online check in last week (did not think there was any big rush) but it seems the boarding number is determined based on what time you specify for arrival time now with online check in (this is new from our last cruise). The bummer is that the first 2 time slots were already dark (ie unavailable) so earliest I could select was 11am. We have private transportation to terminal and plan to arrive around 10am in hopes of early boarding but now kind of bummed that we may have to wait - boarding group already predetermined.

Just thought I would give a heads up to others. Let me know if anyone has different info on the process.

so my online checkin thing shows locked....i thought we had to be closer to our date? I want to arrive early.

So evidently it was because I hadn't filled out my cc info for onboard. I got 11:30-12 but wanted earlier. Does this mean you can NOT arrive earlier? I am confused.

For the fish extender's group - I was wondering if everyone celebrated Easter. Would anyone be adverse to some Easter/bunny related items for the kiddos? Thanks!

I was thinking of doing the same thing, but didn't think to ask this. We celebrate Easter!

From what I read, DCL would prefer that you not arrive earlier, but they aren't going to make you wait outside or anything. This is just something they are trying to eliminate some of the congestion at the terminal. The thought process is that if everyone staggers their arrival, it will make for a smoother embarkation process, shorter lines, etc. :confused3

I am really starting to get excited about this trip! But I am a terrible procrastinator, and from the sound of it - way behind most of you with the preparations! I still have clothes to buy - let alone pack! Are any of you taking the DCL excursions or are you going to wing it on your own at St. Thomas and St. Martin? I would like to take a tour of St. Martin as we have never been there before, but I'm not really interested in going to the beach. Both of my boys would rather just stay on the ship with their clubs.
I have managed to sign up for a Palo brunch though - priorities right?:rotfl:

HI!! :wave2:
DS8 and I will be going on this cruise.
I am so excited. He has no idea!!!
:woohoo::banana::cool1:

Just wanted to pop on and say hello to everyone!!

I have an excursion booked for St. Maarten (missed out on the Rainforest Trek...so bummed). I wanted a Palo brunch so kudos to getting to that one when you did! I am going solo on St. Thomas because things look like they are nearby-ish and the Eco walk pictures look identical to CC so I figured why pay for it on St. Thomas when its free later!
I also noticed the change to arrival times. I am also booked for the 11:30 to 12:00 pm slot...
Finally have a room number no longer GTY but can't seem to modify it...maybe because the ship is all booked?
