We just found out that my DH is getting a nice big bonus this year. I thought it would be fun to surprise my DS with a trip to DW for his birthday (he will be 8 on 4/23) :cake: I am actually planning on being in the park on his birthday. Still checking out the cheapest flights and then will work around that.

Anyone ever been there for your birthday or a family member's birthday on the actual date?? Should I tell anyone who will listen in the hotel and the park that it is my DS's birthday? :bday: I am going to surprise him at the family birthday party the weekend before. I plan on doing a character breakfast that morning. Any other ideas or suggestions are more then welcome!

We are also bringing our DS who will turn 6 while we are there for his birthday
We have a character breaksfast planned - he does know about the trip
And will have dinner at the Liberty Tree because what he doesn't know is that that he will be attending the Pirate party on his birthday.
I am also thinking of having a cake for our dinner

Disneyflorist can also deliver something to the room

What a wonderful birthday present for your DS!! :goodvibes In each park that you go to, you should get a birthday button for your DS at Guest Services (or City Hall on Main Street in MK). You could even see if there's a Pirate and Princess party during that time. (Unfortunately, they haven't officially released all the 2008 dates yet.) I've heard that the PPPs are a lot of fun! He can even get a pirate tutorial with Captain Jack Sparrow! Here are a couple of sites that have some great Disney birthday tips:

I hope your DS has a wonderful birthday! Have a great trip! :wizard:

(By the way, I love your screen name! :tigger:)

What fun parents you are!!! We also were able to celebrate our oldest daughters(prior August) and youngest sons (most recently) in Disney! However it was during that terrible snowstorm last winter that knocked out the whole eastern seaboard so we lost 1 3/4's days!!! But we mentioned it at AKL resort when checking in and Mickey (AKA cast member) slipped a card with photo under our hotel door adressed to him. We celebrated at Garden Grill for dinner and lucky for us Pluto happened to be at our table when server brought out his cupcake so he really hammed it up! Priceless memories they will never forget!! So tell anyone that will listen who knows where the magic will turn up! Now we have one middle son that is frequently reminding us we have never been to Disney on HIS birthday! Hopefully this year!!!!!

Thanks for those 2 sites!
There is a PPP scheduled the night of his actual birthday. But he isn't in to the whole pirates and Jack Sparrow thing so for now I am considering it.

Love your screen name too!! :tigger:

Thanks for the info! I am going to tell anyone who will listen that it is his birthday! I also got an idea from another website about making a shirt for him that says "it is my birthday" on the front and "I am in Disney World" or something like that on the back. I think that is what I am going to wrap up and give him ahead of time.

I was there for my birthday 2 years ago, and I wore the birthday button the whole time. Hey nobody remembers they saw you?! lol I got a cupcake at crystal palace. A mickey balloon before spectromagic, and many MANY happy birthday!!!
