Celebrating Christmas with the Urchins -- UPDATE -- SURPRISE

We have a 5:30 dinner at LTT on the party night so not sure if we will make it to the dismeet but will try. We are in AK on Wed. And Epcot Thurs so maybe we will run into you if we miss you at the party.

Love what your son did for his wife....still in the honeymoon phase! Glad they are so happy.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving

I truly apologize for my lack of being here. I spent all morning catching up on all of the other threads again.

Work is just killing me, I spent all day Saturday baking Christmas cookies and on the phone with my daughter-in-law and yesterday I cleaned the house all day since this coming weekend is shot and then we leave. On top of that, my brother is having more medical issues and I'm just totally drained.

I can understand about being busy... Well other than baking Christmas cookies... and cleaning the house.... Ok, I guess I'm not all that busy. :rotfl2:

The good news is Andy started teaching on Friday (the teacher left to have her baby) and Mark's kids are doing well early in the wrestling season.

Awesome news. I bet Andy is an excellent teacher. Funny you mention teaching. My daughter texted me today and has informed me that she has now decided that she wants to be a teacher when she graduates from high school.

And I have to tell you what my sweet boy did. I told you about the dog and the shoes. Well, last Monday, Alisha called him when she was leaving work as she always does. Mark told her there was a phone number on the dresser he needed when she got home and to call him with it. Well, there was no note with a phone number. There was a note that said: "look in the closet." Hanging in the closet was a new dress and a NEW pair of zebra patterned shoes like the ones Rolo chewed up. A note attached to the shoes said to go in the kitchen and there was a note there that said: "Be ready at 8, we're going on a date." I don't know where he got his romantic side...it sure wasn't his father. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Judging from those smoochie smoochie pics from the MK, I'm willing to bet Mark has a touch of romance in him. ;)

Okay, back to our plans.

After we leave the Magic Kingdom, we are heading here:

We want to spend the afternoon seeing the things we missed on our full day on Thursday. This would include some of this:

Storytellers (but without a cute couple in the photo)

I had no idea about Storytellers in the World Showcase until just the other day. I am really looking forward to taking my time and hearing them.

We have dinner at the Coral Reef at 4:05 p.m. Why so early? Because we will be going to see this afte our dinner:

I may in the minority here on the DIS, but I have been to the Coral Reef three times and have enjoyed it each time.

Mark and I are really looking forward to this. Our narrator is Whoopi Goldberg and we hear she is marvelous.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the CP as well. Our narrator will be Gary Sinese. Our dinner package is at Tokyo Dining.

With the CP package, we also get special seating for Illuminations. Now, as most of you know, we are not Illumination fans at all, but being that we get special seating and I've heard they do a "Christmas" themed one, we will stay for it.

I'm like you with the Illuminations, been there done that.. Or at least for me that is the case. We were not planning on watching it until I heard it is different during the Christmas season.

Sunday, December 8

We originally had an 8 a.m. or something like that flight. Then American Airlines went and changed flights and our flight was at 6:30 a.m. This would mean leaving the resort at 4:00, if not earlier, to return the rental car, check in, go through security, grab something to eat, etc. Mark was NOT happy. He called American Airlines on Saturday and they willingly (without any change fees, difference in fare, etc)., moved us to the 11:45 a.m. flight where there were still seats available. So what did I do with this new info? I booked a breakfast, of course. And where will we be eating? Sorry, Tim, it's not Kona (although I tried...no availability; but we are definitely eating there in September). We will be eating breakfast here:

I'm glad things worked out for you with American Airlines. I agree, that would have been a real bear having to get up that early to fly back home. Enjoy that breakfast as well. When we stay at the AKL in June we are going to do a breakfast there as well.

As always Kathy, excellent pre TR. :thumbsup2

I know I originally thought 5 p.m. for our big DIS meet, but I forgot we have FP+ at that time. So my suggestion is we do it at 6:30 p.m. I think the best place to meet is right in front of the restrooms (behind the stage where they have the dance party) near Space Mountain. I hope as many of you that can come will...we'd love to meet you all. And for those of you that are not at the MVMCP that night, please STOP me if you see me in one of the other parks and say hello. It would be delightful to meet as many of you as possible.

I am looking forward to this DIS meet and wouldn't think of missing it. And you can count on if I see you wandering around I will be certain to say hello. :thumbsup2

:wave2: Pat. I didn't know about the purple cat...I will be on the look out. I hope you are feeling good after the surgery.
I am doing pretty good. No pain meds in a couple of days. Sleeping is still hard, just trying to find a comfortable spot. I wake up a few times a night and end up up for a while so I nap. :lmao:

The cat is a purple hunched cat from Halloween that is hidden somewhere different every year. I always look for that in addition to counting Mickeys.

Marv? Who is Marv? I've never seen a Marv on this PTR

:rotfl2::rotfl2: Me either. Rosie is just being Goofy.....

Awww What a surprise !!! :goodvibes

Great news for Andy !!!

In case I miss the send off
Happy Thanksgiving and Have a Magical Trip. pixiedust:

I don't know if I ever posted our dates for 2014

Mary has invited me to join her and the girls again and we will be there May 29 - June 6. We will be spending 8 nights at Old Key West.

Mark and I weren't thrilled with August this year, so we've decided to push it mid-September (this will be whether he is at current job or new job). We will stay at AKL Kidani (assuming we can get a studio at 7 months out) for seven nights from September 19 - 26 and then nine nights in Marco September 26 - October 5.

Whoa! You've finished a TR and PTR and I'm only on day 6 of my TR! For shame! :lmao:

I'm seriously looking forward to 12/7 say about ohhhhh oops! I never said what time.... let's leave at the earlier time that you recommended since it won't hurt to have a few extra minutes to head to MK and get to CP. :)

I really wanted to see Yee Haw Bob since Cynthia had mentioned him in one of her TRs. It didn't work out last time. Maybe this trip we'll have some free time although I think his show is dark on certain nights.

We'll have Whoopi as well for our first CP but that is on the 6th. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing that since it will be our first.

You've done well with raising your boys. What a sweetie with that awesome surprise. Seriously he get's points for that. :thumbsup2

Thanks for sharing your 2014 dates. People are going to rush to do their bookings based on your dates now you know. It's going to be a sell out at Kidani Village and OKW for sure.

I know somebody else who is going to be there for several of those days. :rolleyes1:woohoo::rotfl2:

We'll be staying at the AKL for the first time!

Looking forward to the dis meet on the 3rd added info to my list!
See you all then:)

I will try to make the DISmeet on the third. We will be watching the Castle Lighting then head over that way.

Kat, I can't believe I caught up before you left. I have been chasing your reports downs for what feels like months.:lmao: I don't normally like to recap when I first catch up as most things have been talked threw already. But not this time.

First to Mary, I hope you enjoy your Homeschooling adventure. I homeschooled all three of my kids. The only one who stepped foot in school for a year was oldest and that was for Kind. I think my kids are who they are now for what I did for there teaching. They are going to have huge bank accounts, but they all have big hearts. My oldest main interested is mission field. He currently is in National Guards as a Asst. Chaplin. The middle is in Army. When he gets out he plans on going into firefighting. (He was able to join our during his hs years and take some courses.) And my youngest is being a great Mom. Good luck and take one day at a time. I always suggest to teach the kids what they are interested in.

Kat, I was surprised you never ate at Yak and Yeti. I have weird dreams about eating here. Not bad dreams. Just like how am I going to get seated and finish my meal before work. This I don't think will ever be a problem. It is almost a must do for me. The only thing that keeps it off that list is that I don't have that list yet. There are to many places I need to eat at. I have only been to WDW twice.

I love that story about your son. It is always nice to hear when our sons do something romantic. I am always so surprised at what my son does for his wife.

Ok so talk about jumping around. Your trip sounds great. Almost makes me want to change my dates again and do a Christmas trip. I won't for a couple reason. I need to get back. I don't think I can handle adding on a couple of months to my countdown. Plus there is still alot of Halloween stuff that I haven't done. Can't wait to read your TR. Have a fun safe magical time!!

Kathy with my Mom coming in for Thanksgiving, I probably won't be back on here till late next week. So have a wonderful holiday and an awesome time at Disney!

The plans sound great. I will be over by the meet after the lighting of the castle.

Brenda, Bob performs wed-sat nights

What time is the lighting? I didn't look that up. Should we move it to 7:00?

I don't know where he got his romantic side...it sure wasn't his father. :lmao::lmao::lmao:
:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

Have one of these:
Just one? :confused3

Mark and I are really looking forward to this. Our narrator is Whoopi Goldberg and we hear she is marvelous.
Should be a good show. I look forward to seeing if it is worthwhile. I've been thinking about maybe trying to book the CP dinner package next year. The kids might actually be old enough to sit through it... :confused3 :scared:

Now, as most of you know, we are not Illumination fans at all, but being that we get special seating and I've heard they do a "Christmas" themed one, we will stay for it.
I'm not the biggest Illuminations fan either, but I do like the Christmas tag at the end. Just take a nap during the globe, but wake up for the finale. Actually don't worry about waking up, there's no way you could nap through it. Not only will you hear it, you will feel it. :thumbsup2:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

Then American Airlines went and changed flights and our flight was at 6:30 a.m. This would mean leaving the resort at 4:00, if not earlier, to return the rental car, check in, go through security, grab something to eat, etc. Mark was NOT happy. Too bad they moved the flight, but I'm glad they were at least able to work with you to get a better time. Breakfast at Boma will be a nice way to end the trip.

Have a great trip. Now that it is getting closer, I'm really starting to go through withdrawal now. Having gone the first week of Dec the last 2 years in a row, but not going this year is finally starting to make me feel a little bit depressed as the time draws near. I guess I'll just have to be with you in spirit. :thumbsup2

And bummer about August... I am certainly not thrilled with it either, as I despise that darned heat, but oh well... bummer too that we won't get to meet up again this time, but I think Sept will be much better. ::yes::

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and I wonderful trip if I don't make it back here again before then.
